Joann Celli, Network Management Director with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield returns to explain the focus on Primary care physicians, who manage and coordinate patient’s care proactively while working cooperatively with the whole patient care team. Attendees will gain the knowledge associated with the success of continuity of care from provider to provider.

ED, BS, from Stone Academy, joining us for the first time, to offer her knowledge of education to educators and leaders. Through this presentation, participants will be able to implement a variety of teaching strategies to students, offer students a variety of assessments, and have a broadened outlook on classroom management.

Bob Sideleau, RN and Bradford Briggs, BS from New Haven AIDS Project will demonstrate HIV prevention techniques including Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, describe how to care for those recently diagnoses, and explain strategies for retention in care for those living with HIV infection.

Participants will gain an understanding about the diagnosis of Autism and research performed and advancements discovered within the last 10 years.

12:00pm.LUNCHEON – ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING- VISIT WITH VENDORS

While enjoying your lunch we will be holding our Annual CSMA Business Meeting. Active, Associate, and Sustaining

CSMA members (whose due are paid by December 31, 2015) will be allowed to vote at the meeting. We will be voting on our Executive Board Positions for 2016-2017, Delegates and Alternates to the AAMA National Conference in Reston Virginia September, and new bylaws reflecting the 2015 change to become a 2 tier society.

2:15pm What’s Your Food Telling You1.0 AAMA CEU Avery Jenkins, DC, President of Center for Alternative Medicine, will be joining us to discuss food from an entirely new perspective. Most food discussions revolve around nutrition, calories, and nutrients. We will discuss another element in foods. Participants can expect to leave with a greater understanding of the concept of xenohormesis and Phytosemiotics, and how they affect the body’s function

2:15pm Power Point for Windows 10- 1.0A AAMA CEU Joanne Rodriguez CMA(AAMA), Educator at Ridely Lowell Business & Tech School will give the an interactive presentation on how the new windows 10 has changed and how to effectively use Power Point with the new program.

3:30pmGastrointestinal Disease- Infancy through Adult-1.0CGA AAMA CEU Kristen Wallis, MD, Pediatrician from Children’s Medical Group will review patient case studies on common gastrointestinal diseases for each major milestone in life. With her interactive presentation, attendees will gain knowledge of the presentation of common GI diagnoses, as well as explore differential diagnoses and treatment options for these common presentations.

3:30pm Integrative Medicine - Aromatherapy 1.0CGA AAMA CEU

Lori MIkell, RMA returns to with her passion for Aromatherapy. Participants will learn the history and methodology of aromatherapy. Participants will learn how to safely use Aromatherapy to heal pain, enhance mood, and increase cognitive function

This is an open forum for conference attendees to ask questions to the CSMA Executive Board and National Rep.

Come join fellowCMA(AAMA) for dinner and a fun laid back CSMA Trivia Game.The CSMA Trivia Game will be played in 3 rounds during dinner. You can play as a team or solo, answering 10 questions per round about your CMA(AAMA) knowledge. The team or person with the highest score after 3 rounds will be crowned the 2016 CSMA Trivia Champion. Great time to network, catch up with old friend, enjoy dinner and best of all have fun getting CEUs.

8:30 CPR Recertification Class 3.0 CGA AAMA CEUs(Additional Fee Applies)– Jim Hutchinson. Once again our beloved CPR Trainer will be back offering another CPR recertification class. Space is limited and additional fee is required for this class.

8:30am The Obesity Crisis 1.0CGA AAMA CEU Maureen Wasik, RD, CDE, returns to expand her knowledge of food and nutrition. Attendees will learn what factors contribute to obesity, understand health risks associated with obesity and associate the metabolic changes to the body associated with obesity.

8:30amConcussion: The Head Matters 1.0 AAMA CEU

Jennifer Searles, APRN from Community Health Center Inc. and Children’s Medical Group, will offer her expertise with concussion management. Participants will be able to recognize signs and symptoms of a concussion, understand basic pathophysiology of a concussion, and understand principles behind concussion management.

9:45amThe Spine, Structure, Function and Secondary Conditions; A Non-Pharmaceutical Consideration - William Lordan, BA, DC, Founder of Stony Creek Chiropractic joining us for the first time to discuss the structure and function of the spine. Participants will gain an understanding of normal and abnormal spinal alignments, secondary conditions associated with abnormal spinal alignments, contraindications and considerations for chiropractic care, and have a broaden understanding for treatment options that include non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical approaches.

9:45 Care of Kidney Transplant Patients and Organ Donation Part 1, 1.0CGA AAMA CEU

215pm-Active Aggressor Training for the Workplace 2.0CGA AAMA CEU CSMA Keynote Educational Program – Detective William Meier returns with his intriguing discussion on active aggressor events and how they apply to prevent future events. Participants will understand the Avoid, Deny, and Defend model of an aggressor response and how it applies to a situation. Participants will gain the knowledge about how to create a workplace policy in response to these active aggressors.

4:30pm-BASKET RAFFLE The moment you all have been waiting for….The CSMA Basket Raffle. Come see if you are the lucky winner of some of our fine baskets donated from different CMA(AAMA)s and Organizations. While watching the winners be drawn enjoy a soda and ice cream treat. This is a great time for everyone to gather and say good bye until we all meet again next year at the 56th Annual CSMA State Convention.
