COMMUNITY RESOURCE CONNECTIONS OF TORONTO INTEGRATES WITH FRED VICTOR TODAY

Toronto, Ontario – Fred Victor is excited to announce that today a legal agreement will seal the integration of Community Resource Connections of Toronto (CRCT) with Fred Victor.

CRCT, founded as a non-profit mental health organization in 1974, brings with it an outstanding record of achievement. Since its inception, CRCT has helped to redefine and improve the care and support of people with mental health challenges and to enable adults to live with dignity and fulfilment in the community. During their more than 40-year history, CRCT has forged relationships and partnerships with consumers of the mental health system and their families, and other service providers, creating new services and programs.

CRCT’s Director of Operations, Vesna Milinkovic, says, “We’re looking forward to this new chapter. It will be created from CRCT’s legacy of innovation and leadership in community mental health and Fred Victor’s longevity and strategic development. Both of our organizations have earned the public’s confidence with their remarkable achievements. Now, our integrated organization will offer enhanced, evidence-based services to vulnerable and diverse populations in the City of Toronto.”

Fred Victor’s Executive Director Mark Aston agrees, “We’re looking forward to connecting our two organizations together and making stronger service links. We will have greater capacity as an integrated organization than we did as separate entities — a chance to serve more people in a more effective manner. “

Fred Victor, a Toronto-based charity, has been offering programs and services for 120 years, touching the lives of some 8,000 people a year. Fred Victor provides permanent, affordable housing to adults and families; transitional housing and emergency shelter for people experiencing homelessness; health and counselling services including medical and psychiatric intervention; employment training; job search assistance; affordable meals; and daytime social/recreational programming.
