CHEMO CARE TOTE BAGS
Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection is seeking a variety of items for our
Chemo Care Tote Bags. The items listed have been carefully selected to provide comfort, relief,
relaxation and inspiration to new patients facing the fears and uncertainty of chemotherapy treatment. Volunteers compile these items into tote bags and deliver them to local cancer centers to remind
patients they are thought of, cared for and never alone on their journey.
PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING SOME OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS (NEW) FOR ADULT MEN AND WOMEN:
· Throw blankets (preferably fleece) – Patients often get cold during treatment
· Soft, fuzzy socks – For warmth and comfort
· Satin Pillowcases - The American Cancer Society recommends sleeping on satin pillowcases to help with chemotherapy side effects such as hair loss, dry skin and discomfort
· Hard Candy (Peppermint, ginger, root beer or lemon flavors) – For nausea/dry mouth
· Queasy Pops, Queasy Drops and Angel Mints– For nausea/dry mouth
· Biotene oral care products (8 oz. preferred) and Colgate Wisps – For dry mouth
· Moisturizer that is fragrance-free (8 oz. preferred) – For dry skin
(ie. Eucerin, Lubriderm, Neutrogena, Cetaphil, Lindi Skin, Jergens Healing)
· Lip balm (non-medicated and unscented) – For dry lips
· Travel packs of tissues – For runny noses and tears
· Water bottle (BPA-Free) – To help patients stay hydrated
· Travel tumbler with straw – To aid in drinking while laying down
· Puzzle books (Cross word, Word Search, Sudoku etc) – To keep the mind
engaged and occupied
· Journals– For writing down questions, medications, thoughts and feelings
· Adult coloring books and colored pencils – For enjoyment and stress relief
· Thank you cards – To stay connected with the people who offer support
