Summary of Enrolment Procedures for International (Fee-Paying) Students

How to Apply:

Students or agents must submit online applicationsat: Students may choose to attend for 1 semester up to 4 school years to complete secondary school, or for a short term stay. Start and end dates for short term stays are subject to approval. Secondary school credits cannot be earned during short term stays of less than one semester.

Greater Essex County District School Board will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system. Mailed, emailed, or faxed applications are not accepted. Incomplete or unpaid applications will not be processed. Payment of the application fee is part of the online application process.

Required Documents

Please collect all documents prior to applying. All documents must be scanned as single documents in PDF or JPEG format less than 5 MB each. If you start an online application and do not complete it within 30 days, it will automatically be deleted.

  1. Passport photo page.
  2. Transcripts or report cards for the last 2 years translated to English.
  3. Immunization records translated to English.
  4. Custodianship Declaration. If the applicant will not be part of our homestay program, they must assign a custodian. The custodian must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, over 25 years old, and must live full time in the Windsor area.
  5. Consent to Photograph and Record and Field Trip Authorization.
  6. Mandatory Student Participation Agreement.

What to expect after submitting your application

  • The application and required documents will be reviewed.
  • Once the application fee is paid and all required documents are provided, the Letter of Acceptance and Letter of Accommodation will be emailed to the contact person. The student includes these letters with their application for the Study Permit, obtained from Citizenship and Immigration Canada before the student enters Canada. Email a copy of your Study Permit to when you receive it.
  • The invoice for tuition and medical insurance will be issued. Payment instructions will be on the invoice.
  • Transportation to secondary schools within City of Windsor limits, and for students placed out of district for ESL programs, is the responsibility of the student.
