ENFORCING SATAN’S DEFEAT

God created man after His likeness and put him in the world to exercise dominion over everything on earth (Genesis 1:26,28). God rules and has dominion in heaven and He expects man who is made in His likeness to rule and have dominion on earth. God has passed on the responsibility of exercising dominion on earth to man as the scripture says: “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath He given to the children of men” (Psalm 115:16).

Heaven is waiting to back us up. Whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19; 18:18).

Christ has declared “It is finished” (John 19:30). The power of sin over us is broken, the oppression of the devil in our lives is finished. The works of the devil are completely destroyed and Satan is to be bruised under our feet (1 John 3:8; Romans 16:20).

Satan is a defeated foe but it is our lot to enforce Satan’s defeat. When a judge sentences a criminal, it is the duty of the law enforcement agents to uphold and enforce the judgement. The judgement gives the law enforcement agents the legal right to discipline the offender. The criminal can never challenge the authority behind the enforcement.

REALITY OF SATAN’S DEFEAT

1 John 3:8; Acts 10:38; John 16:11,33; 12:31; Colossians 1:13; 2:14,15; Romans 16:20; Matthew 12:29; Mark 3:27; Luke 11:21,22; 10:18; 1 Samuel 17:49-54; 1 Peter 5:8,9.

Christ came for the sole purpose of destroying the works of the devil and He has already done this (1 John 3:8; Acts 10:38). The devil has already been judged and his defeat has been finalised (John 16:11; 12:31; Colossians 1:13; 2:14,15).

Christ has already overcome the world and paved the way for God to bruise Satan under our feet (John 16:33; Romans 16:20).

The strong man has already been bound. We are to go in and loose the captives, liberate the prisoners, relief the oppressed, recover what the thief has stolen, restore what he has destroyed (John 10:10; Matthew 12:29; Mark 3:27; Luke 11:21,22).

The intimidating Goliath has been slain, the roaring pseudo-lion has been silenced, like lightning he has fallen from heaven (1 Samuel 17:49-54; 1 Peter 5:8,9; Luke 10:18).

RESPONDING TO THE SAVIOUR’S DECLARATIONS

Luke 10:3,9,17-19; Mark 16:17,18; 11:23; Matthew 16:19; 18:18; 10:1,5-8; 28:18,19; John 14:12-14.

The saints of God need to allow the reality of Satan’s defeat to sink down our spirits. Satan’s defeat is a fact. Goliath is indeed dead! (1 Samuel 17:49-54).

We are God’s law enforcement agents to see to it that the defeat of the devil is enforced. We need to rise up in faith to take God at His word, respond to the Saviour’s emphatic declarations.

Satan has already fallen from heaven like lightning. Satan and his demons are subject unto us through the name of Jesus (Luke 10:17,18). Respond then to Christ’s declarations and enforce this defeat of Satan!

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy: and NOTHING shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17,18).

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).

“For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23).

RESOURCES FOR SAINTS’ DOMINION

Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 John 5:4; James 5:13-18; Matthew 16:19; 18:18; Luke 10:17-19; Mark 9:38,39; 16:17; John 15:16; 14:13; 16:23,24; Acts 3:6-8,16; 16:16-18; Revelation 12:11; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.

God has given us all the resources to enforce Satan’s defeat, have dominion and enjoy the abundant life (Genesis 1:26,28; John 10:10).

The whole armour of God is essential for every saint. This is our battle gear – belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, the sandals of the gospel, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:10-18).

The prayer of faith as exercised in binding and loosing, intercession, commanding, praying for the sick brings the victory and keeps the devil defeated (1 John 5:4; James 5:13-18; Matthew 16:19; 18:18).

The devil will always be subject to us through the name of Jesus (Luke 10:17-19; Mark 9:38,39; 16:17; John 15:16; 14:13; 16:23,24; Acts 3:6-8,16; 16:16-18).

The blood of Jesus is a mighty weapon that always enforces Satan’s defeat (Revelation 12:11). Make use of this delegated power and authority in the blood and name of Jesus.

Our spiritual resources and weapons are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
