FAQ

Can everyTV work with theHDMImatrix?

Basically,theanswerisYES.ButifyourTVcannotsupport1080p,pleaserefertheEDID LEARNINGsection to learn EDIDfromyourTV.

Whatis EDID? Why do Ineed to learnEDID?

EDIDcontainsthewholeinformationofthedisplay suchastheresolutionandaudiosettingwhich thisdisplaycansupport.Therefore,basedontheEDIDinformation,mediaplayerwillpickupthe mostsuitableresolutionandaudiosettingtothedisplay.InordertofaithfullytransmittheEDID informationfromdisplaytothemediaplayer,learningEDIDfromdisplaytothisdeviceis necessary.

Whatshould Ido to learn EDIDforthe matrix?

Due to the limitation ofHDMI,the sourcedevice can only outputone formatofvideo and audio.In otherwords,thesourcedevicecannotoutput720pand1080pvideoatthesametime,oroutput stereoandsurroundsoundatthesametime.Therefore,youmayneedtomanuallysetupeach HDMIinputfordesirableaudio/videooutputformat.ThemechanismofEDIDLearningistopickup theHDMIdisplaywiththelowestcapabilityamongtheonesyouwoulduseforthisinputsource. Forexample,ifuserwouldliketoplaytheInput-2uponoutput-2,output-3andoutput-4,andonly output-3cannotsupport1080p[supportupto720ponly],pleaselearntheEDIDfromthedisplay connectedtotheoutput-3attheInput-2port.Ofcourse,ifoutpt-3wouldgettheHDMIsignalsfrom everyHDMIinput,pleaselearnEDIDinformationfromoutput3toallfourHDMIinputs.Formore information aboutEDIDLearning,pleasereferto EDIDLEARNINGsection.

My TV can support1080p,butwhythere is no audio?

ThefactorydefaultEDIDofthisdeviceis1080p2ch audio.However,therewouldbea problem afteryouchangetouse1080p7.1chiftheTVcannotsupport7.1chaudio.Pleaseusethe defaultEDID,1080p & 2ch audio.

WhenIsetanaudioamplifier(AVreceiver)betweenTVandthematrixtoextract7.1ch audio, butwhythere is stillno audio?

Basically,thedefaultEDIDofthechoseninputcansupport7.1chaudio,buttheproblemisthatthe EDIDoftheamplifierstillcannotmatchthedefaultsetting.Therefore,thebestmethodistolearn EDIDfromtheamplifierdirectly.PleaserefertoEDIDLEARNINGsectionandfollowthestepsto learnthe EDID.WhenlearningEDIDfromtheamplifier, userjustneedstoconnectthe matrix and amplifier.Pleasedon'tconnectHDMIcablebetweenamplifierandTVwhentheEDID learning is proceeding.

When Iplaythe same content upon multi-displays,whyonlytheTVequippedwith amplifier can have 7.1ch audio, and the others don'thave 7.1ch audio even no stereo?

Due to the limitation ofHDMI,the sourceonlycanchoose onevideo and one audio formatto play, whichcanbe either 1080pand7.1ch or1080pandstereoaudio.Itmeanswhentheuser setsthe matrix at 1080pand 7.1ch,thesourcewillonlyplaythe content underthisformat.Thereforeifthe TV cannotdecode 7.1ch audio, thereis definitely no audio.
