5/2009 – present Participant in CDC’s National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) Advancing e-Cancer Reporting and Registry Operations (AERRO) Clinic/Physician Office (CPO) Workgroup; the goal is to develop/implement consistent standards for electronic CPO reporting to improve the completeness, timeliness, and quality of cancer registry data.

3/2006 – present Serve as Voting Delegate for the Missouri Cancer Registry to the International Association of Cancer Registries (IARC). (With five years’ high-quality data, MCR became eligible, applied and was accepted into full membership in IARC in 2006.)

8/2002 – present Employ one or more Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) from various departments (e.g., Health Management and Informatics (HMI), Statistics, Rural Sociology) each semester and provide summer internship opportunities for students. 1997 – present Serve on Missouri Cancer Registry Advisory Board. Established Board in 1997 and selected as Chair by Board members; re-elected and continued to serve as Chair until merger with Missouri Cancer Consortium in September 2006.

1996 – present Serve as Voting Delegate for the Missouri Cancer Registry to the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries. Nominate and vote on candidates for national office; introduce topics for discussion, vote on changes to the bylaws, etc.

1/2009 – 3/2011 Melanoma Monograph Project: Member of Steering Committee and co-author of methods chapter. Project involves investigators from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), population-based cancer registries in the U.S., academic institutions, ORC Macro and the American Cancer Society.

3/2006 – 4/2009 Participant in CDC’s National Program of Cancer Registries – Modeling Electronic Reporting Project (NPCR-MERP) central registry-based Strategic Assessment and Modeling Session (SAMS) 9-10 March 2006 and subsequent activities (e.g., pilot project to test the implementation of electronic reporting of pathology data from LabCorp to participating state central cancer registries; member of MERP Central Cancer Registry (CCR) workgroup visioning the future of cancer reporting).
