First day information:
PARKING:
On the first day, you’ll need to park in the Shuttle lot. Get off 440 at West End/Orleans Ave and get in the far right lane of the exit ramp.
At 2nd light, turn right on Blakemore (Walgreen’s on corner)
Take 2ndLeft on Natchez Trace
Take 1st Left on Children’s Way into Shuttle Lot
Once parked, you can take a shuttle bus or walk. Take the Gold/Blue route bus to be dropped off at the Round Wing near Au Bon Pain.
If walking, go toward the stop light at Natchez Trace and Highland (Jess Neely Drive on the map). Cross Natchez and walk straight on Highland toward the baseball field/tennis courts. Cross over 25th Ave and then turn left on 24th Ave. Go one block and turn right at the intersection. Follow this driveway around to Medical Center North and Eskind Library. Take temporary wooden walkway over to Main Hospital entrance just past Au Bon Pain restaurant .As you walk into the hospital, you’ll take and immediate left through glass doors, walk past the gift shop through another set of glass doors, walk over elevated, covered cross walk, cross the parking garage, and into the next set of doors into Medical Center East. Take elevators to the 6th floor, exit and find the SouthTower, which is where our program is located. Ask the receptionist to call Elizabeth Murillo.
Parking Fees: $30 a month (check or cash; pay in full on first day). You will need your vehicle registration that day in order to get a parking sticker.
Please allow extra time on your first day in order to get parked and walk into the building. This could be at least 10-15-minute process.
LOCATION:6th floor of MedicalCenterEast-SouthTower.
HOURS:8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Mon-Friday(may be variable with Clinical Instructor’s schedule)
LUNCH:We have a fridge, freezer, stove, and several microwaves so feel free to bring anything you like to prepare. The cafeteria is available in the main hospitaland there is an Au Bon Pain downstairs.

What will happen:
On the first day you will have a picture made for a Vanderbilt ID badge and obtain an access card to park in the garage. You will tour the facility and meet some of the staff. Two mandatory videos required by OSHA will be viewed. Time to review Hospital and Bill Wilkerson Policies and Procedures will be provided. Your clinical instructor will spend time orienting you to your assigned area and discussing your Vanderbilt clinical experience.
