Committee Chairman Toenjescalled the meeting to order at7:40p.m.
Old Business
I.150th Year Celebration in 2017
Pam reported that Julie is summarizing events from the 1967 and 1992 celebrations in order to start planning the next celebration.
New Business
- Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes
Recommendation made by CommitteeChairman Toenjes, seconded by Committee MemberLinnertz to accept the minutes of the December 29, 2014meeting. Carried.
II. Request from St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ruma, IL
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Toenjes, seconded by Committee Member Reed to grant the request made by St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ruma, IL to collect at the 4-way stop on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 7a.m. to 11 a.m. Carried.
III.Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner and Dues
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Toenjes, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz to pay for any Council Member to attend the Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner at a cost of $50 per person (with the Council Member paying for their spouse) on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Carried.
IV.Request from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Toenjes, seconded by Committee Member Thompson to grant the request made by St. John the Baptist Church to reserve a shelter at the park for the purpose of using the picnic tables with the fee waived, to close Hazel Street for two blocks and 5th Street from Locust to Hazel, all to take place on July 10 & 11, 2015. Carried.
V.Request from Buena Vista Bank
Recommendation made by Committee Member Reed, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz to grant the request made by Buena Vista Bankto host an Easter Egg Hunt, petting zoo and face painting at Ratz Park on March 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Carried.
VI.Community Garden Project with Local FFA
Pam will talk to the local FFA to get more information.
VII.Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City (Discussion Only)
