Forest Fest

Saturday, March 21, 2009

10:30-3:00p.m.

On Saturday, March 21, 2009, from 10:30-3:00p.m. we will celebrate Hillside's Meadows & Trails and the anniversary of Earth Day with our Annual Roots & Shoots Forest Fest. It will be a full day of activities, a petting zoo (with rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes, puppies, sheep, goats, etc), make-and-take booths, live entertainment, and delicious food to raise funds for future enhancements to our outdoor classroom. A portion will also be donated to other environmental organizations researched by the 100+ active members of HELP and Roots & Shoots.
An array of informational stations will also offer materials and lessons about local and global environments. Represented will be the Jane Goodall Institute, Lakota Wolf Preserve, Upper Raritan Watershed Association, Seeing Eye, NJ Audubon, Bridgewater Township, Somerset County Recycling, 4-H, and Hillside School's Roots & Shoots Program participants. Student members of our district community are anticipated to conclude our exciting afternoon with a special music program in our gymnasium at 2:30p.m.
We encourage you and your family to participate in this exciting and educational event. The registration form, with $5.00 per participating youth under 18 (checks may be made out to HillsideSchool) will also be available to print from our website. Although Pre-registration is encouraged, walk-ins are welcome the day of the event. If you have any questions please contact Tara Hueston () at HillsideSchool (908) 231-1905, ext. 113.
