Summary: The ReStore Donation Coordinator is responsible for handling all donation inquiries, determining their acceptability, scheduling, routing & record keeping.

Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

  • Set the example for outstanding donor/customer/volunteer service by being our Habitat Ambassador
  • Primary responsibility is to handle all donation inquiries in a timely manner via telephone and email
  • Qualifies donations to determine if they fall into our acceptable criteria. Also determines if the donation would need to be dropped off at one of our locations or if it qualifies for our free pickup services.
  • Enters all donation pickups into our scheduling database (Thriftcart) and tracks manually in case of an IT issue
  • Routes all pickups the previous business day to the actual pickup date, assigns 2 hour crew arrival time and contacts all donors to provide their timeframe and to receive confirmation of donor preparedness
  • Reconciles daily donation paperwork once completed, enters data into our Statistical Reports and files accordingly
  • Manages all volunteer documentation, to include daily log, entering data into our Statistical Reports and volunteer name badges
  • Answers multi-line telephone system promptly and with courtesy, provides store information, directions, takes accurate messages, screens and directs telephone calls to appropriate person in a professional manner.
  • Accurately operate cash register and credit card terminal; including reconciling daily sales
  • Assist in pricing donations for immediate sale following the guidelines as needed
  • Operates standard office equipment to include: multi-line telephone, computer with print/copy/scanner, cash register, calculator, credit card terminal
  • Assist in the management of ReStore volunteers and duties
  • Inventories and stocks office supplies, sold tags, donation slips, price tags, tag sales, credit card & register tape
  • Receives and addresses in a professional manner customer/donor/volunteer/team members inquiries, concerns and/or complaints via telephone, verbally, mail, email or walk-in – consults with ReStore Supervisor or Director of Operations on a case by case basis
  • Communicates efficiently and effectively with the Director of Operations, ReStore Manager, ReStore Supervisor, Community Outreach Manager, Donation Supervisor and Donation Pick Up crews
  • Maintains files in an organized and accessible manner include updating information, purging files on a regular basis and creating new filing systems as needed
  • Any other reasonable tasks requested by the Director of ReStore Operations
  • Be willing to learn and take on new responsibilities

Education: High School Diploma/GED with Customer Service/Cashier experience

Citification & Licensure Requirements: Must have valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record with reliable transportation

Pre-Requisite Requirements: Ability to pass Criminal Background check, Drug Screening and Sexual Offender Check

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, donors, volunteers and the general public. Ability to speak English fluently and possess English written skills- Bi-lingual not required, definitely a plus

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, square footage/yardage. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Working knowledge of business related financial documents

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calculator; Data based software. Typing skills of at least 45 wpm are required. The ability to perform searches and use other online tools and resources

Navigation System: Ability to learn, manage, oversee GPS tracking system
