SAR is the AnjanaSutaAcademySrimad-bhagavatam Annual Review. Twelve Cantos/Twelve Months - We review one Canto each month.. Kartika is the 12th month of the Vaisnava year so we do the 12th Canto during that month.

The Prayers by Lord Siva are nice and especially Verse 4.24.52. It explains that the First Two Cantos are the Lotus Feet of Krsna, and we must study them carefully first.

The Canto Starts with question by MP from Canto Five, about how people can avoid going to hell because of their Karma. Prabhupada uses this as the beginning of his Purport to Text One of NOI. Is it also cited in NOD by Srila Rupa Goswami in the first wave?
Then the Canto continues with the story of Dhruva Maharaja’s line and the Pracetas who have been under water since Canto Four.
Because of Pada-padma and so forth, not much time for Srimad bhagavatam Annual Review (SAR).
But, its such a nice system that it forces us to do something each month.
Let’s memorize Narada Muni’s song that Srila Prabhupada includes in Canto Six!
SB 6.5.22
The goodness of the great sage NāradaMuni is described herewith. He always chants about the pastimes of the Lord and delivers the fallen souls back to Godhead. In this regard, Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura has sung:
nārada-muni, bājāyavīṇā,
'rādhikā-ramaṇa'-nāme
nāmaamani, uditahaya,
bhakata-gīta-sāme
amiya-dhārā, variṣeghana,
śravaṇa-yugalegiyā
bhakata-jana, saghane nāce,
bhariyāāpana hiyā
mādhurī-pūra, āsaba paśi',
mātāyajagata-jane
kehavākāńde, kehavānāce,
kehamātemanemane
pañca-vadana, nāradedhari',
premerasaghana rola
kamalāsana, nāciyābale,
'bolabolaharibola'
sahasrānana, parama-sukhe,
'harihari' bali' gāya
nāma-prabhāve, mātilaviśva,
nāma-rasasabepāya
śrī-kṛṣṇa-nāma, rasanesphuri',
purā'laāmāraāśa
śrī-rūpa-pade, yācaye ihā,

The purport of this song is thatNāradaMuni, the great soul, plays a stringed instrument called a vīṇā, vibrating the sound rādhikā-ramaṇa, which is another name for Kṛṣṇa. As soon as he strokes the strings, all the devotees begin responding, making a very beautiful vibration. Accompanied by the stringed instrument, the singing seems like a shower of nectar, and all the devotees dance in ecstasy to the fullest extent of their satisfaction. While dancing, they appear madly intoxicated with ecstasy, as if drinking the beverage called mādhurī-pūra. Some of them cry, some of them dance, and some of them, although unable to dance publicly, dance within their hearts. Lord Śiva embraces NāradaMuni and begins talking in an ecstatic voice, and seeing Lord Śiva dancing with Nārada, Lord Brahmā also joins, saying, "All of you kindly chant 'Haribol! Haribol!' " The King of heaven, Indra, also gradually joins with great satisfaction and begins dancing and chanting "Haribol! Haribol!" In this way, by the influence of the transcendental vibration of the holy name of God, the whole universe becomes ecstatic. Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura says, "When the universe becomes ecstatic, my desire is satisfied. I therefore pray unto the lotus feet of Rūpa Gosvāmī that this chanting of HarerNāmamay go on nicely like this."

King Sudyumna Becomes a Woman
Summary
This chapter describes how Sudyumna became a woman and how the dynasty
of Vaivasvata Manu was amalgamated with the Soma-vamsa, the dynasty
coming from the moon.

Canto Nine Aim.
King Pariksit said: My lord, Sukadeva Gosvämi, you have elaborately
described all the periods of the various Manus and, within those periods,
the wonderful activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who has
unlimited potency. I am fortunate to have heard all of this from you.
Satyavrata, the saintly king of Dravidadesa who received spiritual
knowledge at the end of the last millennium by the grace of the Supreme,
later became Vaivasvata Manu, the son of Vivasvän, in the next
manvantara [period of Manu]. I have received this knowledge from you. I also
understand that such kings as Ikñväku were his sons, as you have already
explained. O greatly fortunate Çukadeva Gosvämé, O great brähmana,
kindly describe to us separately the dynasties and characteristics of all
those kings, for we are always eager to hear such topics from you.
Kindly tell us about the abilities of all the celebrated kings born in the
dynasty of Vaivasvata Manu, including those who have already passed,
those who may appear in the future, and those who exist at present.

Summary
This Second Chapter describes the dynasties of the sons of Manu, headed
by Karüña.

kñatriyas are interested in drinking. All of them, therefore, were
satisfied with their different engagements.

Summary
This chapter describes the dynasty of Saryati, another son of Manu, and
also tells about Sukanya and Revati.
