Position Description
Position: IT Network and Systems Administrator
Reports to: IT Manager
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
It is a requirement of the position that the successful applicant must have at a minimum the following qualifications and experience:
· Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (or higher)
· Certificate IV in IT or relevant IT credentials
· Maintaining an SOE
· Desktop Imaging with Windows Deployment Server
· OSX Deployment and Management
· iOS Deployment and Management
· Virtual machines and Hosts
· Internetworking
· Win 7 Desktop, Win 2008 Server Maintenance and troubleshooting
· 1 to 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
· Experience at sites with over 150 computers and 300 users
· Willingness to learn and better yourself
· A desire to provide outstanding support
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
It is desirable that the successful applicant have the following qualifications and experience:
· Casper Management Suite
· Windows 10 Deployment and Management
· Knowledge of Windows Deployment Server and Altiris or packaged based software deployment
· Networking infrastructure (TCP/IP networks/Routers/VLANs etc)
· Enterprise level managed wireless networks
· VCP – (VMWare Certified Professional)
· VMWare or Hyper-V experience
· Backup paradigms and disaster recovery plans
· Office 365 Management and Support
· Coding and Scripting experience
· Skype for Business
· Enterprise storage solutions (DAS, NAS, SAN)
· Previous experience working in a similar role within a School environment will be highly regarded
Other Requirements:
· Expected to keep abreast of new technologies through professional development and membership of relevant professional bodies
· Well developed communication skills including report and letter writing
· Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build rapport and interact effectively at all levels of an organisation

Key Responsibility Areas:
A. Helpdesk and Technical support
· Respond to and resolve requests in a timely fashion
· Maintenance and Support of all technology within the school’s operations;
· General maintenance requirements of all desktop computers, notebooks, printers, scanners etc and the repair of all hardware and software as necessary and in a timely fashion;
· Attending to requests for assistance with faults that occur whilst the facilities are being used by staff and students.
· Update documentation and knowledge articles;
· Escalate when necessary
B. Desktop and Laptop Administration
· Maintain Desktop SOE including deployment of updates and software;
· Reimage Systems as required;
· Maintain SOE Build documentation with register of software and processes for deployment
· Update asset records as required;
C. Network and Server Administration
· Maintain and Support Server Infrastructure;
· Maintain and Support Network Infrastructure;
· Managed and Report on available Storage, Compute and Network resources
· Monitor and Managed Security risks across Desktop, Server, Network and Internet Infrastructure
· Maintain Systems and Network Build documentation
· Maintain IP address register
· Update asset records as required;
D. Support of student BYOD program
· Support the School’s BYOD program, ensuring appropriate turn-around times for resolution of student requests;
· Update accurate records of student details concerning their school owned assets;
· Assist Students to access the School Network and Resources from their personal device
· If required, liaise with supplier re support of student device;
· Update records of students’ details concerning their device, including repair, warranty and insurance details;
E. Involvement in the life of the School
· Attendance at devotions;
· Attendance at other staff meetings and committee meetings when required;
· Involvement in school events and promotion functions;
· Support of staff.
F. Additional Information
· This position requires the IT Network and Systems Administrator to work flexible hours. The incumbent will be required to attend meetings, functions or promotional events as part of, or in addition to, normal working hours. Some duties will need to be performed at times other than during the School day or when students are in attendance.
· It should be noted that, while detailed, this job description is not exhaustive and the IT Manager, Business Manager or Principal may at their discretion vary the responsibilities of the IT Network and Systems Administrator as required.
· This position is full-time with 4 weeks annual leave. Hours are 8.00am to 4.00pm.
