General Policies for Patrons
The SRWC facility and CRS programs are intended to promote inclusion, respect and an open and welcoming environment for all. Please respect the equipment you use, your fellow members, and yourself
while participating in activities in and out of the SRWC.
1. Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed beyond the service desk of the SRWC without contractual agreement.
2. All people entering the facility must have a valid Rebel Card ID, a *Forgiveness Pass with a valid government issued ID, be with a group using the facility for a special event, purchase a guest pass or have a sponsored spectator pass.
- *A rebel forgiveness pass is a onetime pass that can be obtained one time per semester, per student or member that will allow entrance into the facility. To obtain a rebel forgiveness pass you must have a valid government issued ID.
3. All individuals participate in activities at their own risk.
4. The SRWC, nor the staff, are responsible for lost, stolen or damaged articles.
5. Food, drink, and tobacco products are not allowed beyond the control desk of the SRWC (except in a non-glass sealable container)
6. Bags are not allowed in the Cardio Room, Fitness Mezzanine or Pool deck.
7. Report any damaged or broken equipment to an attendant or building manager.
8. Hanging on the basketball rims is not permitted.
9. The SRWC staff reserves the right to stop any activity that they deem harmful to the facility or other patrons.
10. Skates, skate boards and bicycles are not to be used inside the building.
11. Gum will not be allowed in the SRWC.
12. Chalk will not be allowed on the Fitness Mezzanine.
13. Refrain from swearing, inappropriate language or behavior. Please respect the equipment and facilities.
14. All personal audio equipment must be played with headphones.
15. Instruction is not allowed, unless with a trained CRS staff member, or with a contracted rental group. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Personal Training
- Swim Lessons
- Aqua Stretch
- Coaching (basketball, volleyball, etc)
- Fitness class instruction
- PEX course instruction
16. Lockers:
- There are lockers available for rental in the locker rooms, please ask a Service Attendant at the Service Desk for information.
- If you rent a locker, the lock belongs to the SRWC and must be kept on the locker. If you chose to use your own lock, please keep our lock inside your locker until your locker rental period is up.
- Day lockers can be found in the locker rooms on the 1st floor or on the 3rd floor basketball courts. Patrons must supply their own locks for the day lockers. Day lockers are for use during operating hours only. Any items left in the lockers after closing will be bagged and held for a $10 clean-out fee.
- Patrons should place all belongings in a locker with a lock. The SRWC is not responsible for any items misplaced or stolen in the locker room.
17. Dress Code:
- For health and safety reasons, patrons should dress appropriately (t-shirt, athletic shorts and closed toed athletic shoes).
- Shoes must be worn in the stretching area as well
- Jeans or dress pants will not be allowed in the Fitness Mezzanine or Cardio Room.
- Shirts must cover the midsection in all areas of the facility (exception for Group Fitness Rooms only)
- Athletic Shoes must be worn on the track (no spikes are permitted).
- Non-marking athletic shoes must be worn on all wood surfaces.
- Only wrestling shoes, socks or bare feet are allowed in the mat room (2040).
18. Fitness policies:
- Patrons will use proper spotting procedures and lifting techniques.
- Patrons will wipe down and store equipment after use (i.e. in the Fitness Mezzanine return weights to their proper area, in the Cardio Room wipe down machines used, in gyms and other rooms please dispose of trash properly)
19. Group Fitness Room Policies:
- When CRS programming or a special event is not in session, rooms 2015 and 2025 can be used at the patrons own risk.
- Room 2040 may only be used for CRS fitness classes, club sports or anything specifically approved by the a CRS staff member. Outside of these times the doors to 2040 will remain locked at all time and off limits to general patrons.
- The sound systems in the Group Fitness Rooms are only to be used by the following people:
- SRWC Student Employees (including instructors for Group Fitness and PEX Courses)
- SRWC Professional Staff Members
- SRWC Graduate Assistants
** The Student Recreation and Wellness Center staff reserves the right to revoke privileges
to anyone who refuses to comply with the above policies.**
Facility Closures
The Student Recreation and Wellness Center facility may be closed and/or reservations canceled when warranted. During official university holidays and breaks, facilities may be closed or operate with limited hours. In addition, required maintenance and staff training may necessitate closures of parts or all affected facilities. Membership fees will not be refunded and/or pro-rated due to closures.
Racquetball Reservations
1. Racquetball reservations will be taken in person or via phone (774-7100).
2. Reservations will only be taken 24 hours in advance and will be held to 10 minutes past the hour before releasing the court on a first come first serve basis.
3. Reservations will be limited to one name per hour for no more than two consecutive hours per calendar day.
4. Equipment may be checked out in the Equipment Room.
5. Goggles are recommended while playing racquetball.
Equipment Issue
1. A valid Rebel Card must be used to check out all equipment in the equipment room. The person checking out the equipment will have their ID swiped when they check the equipment out and back in. That person is responsible for any damaged or lost equipment.
2. A fee will be assessed for any lost or damaged equipment. The student or member’s access to the SRWC will be restricted until all fees are paid: See below for full Equipment check-out policies and procedures.
a. Equipment is due back at the conclusion of use or at building close, whichever comes first.
b. Individuals checking out equipment are responsible for the proper treatment and timely return of the equipment issued.
c. Returning equipment damaged may result in a replacement fee being assessed to the individual.
d. Failure to return equipment in a timely or at all may result in a late or a replacement fee being assessed to the individual.
i. Late Returns : Equipment not returned by the end of night and is:
1. Left in another part of the building and found by the staff at closing or
2. Returned at a later date
a. Will be assessed a $5.00 late return fee. Members who have had a late fee assessed may not check-out equipment until the late fee is paid at the service desk.
ii. Damaged/Not Returned: Equipment that is returned with damage beyond normal wear and tears or not returned at all will be assessed a replacement fee. These will vary based on the item.
iii. Fee Structure:
1. Men’s and Women’s Basketball: $5.00 – Late Fee, $20.00 Re-stock Fee
2. All other Equipment: $5.00- Late Fee, $10.00 Re-stock Fee
3. Racquetball Racquets: $15.00- For damaged beyond normal wear and tear
4. Badminton Racquets: $10.00- for damage beyond normal wear and tear
5. All other damaged equipment: $5.00 for damage beyond normal wear and tear.
Towel Service
1. All members of the SRWC can sign up for towel service at the service desk.
2. Once your initial towel is distributed to you, you must give a towel in order to get a towel (one in/one out).
3. If at any time you do not have a towel to hand in, you must pay $2 to obtain a new towel.
Pool Rules
- Pool is closed when there is no life guard on duty.
- All patrons must enter the pool feet first, no diving.
- All swimmers must take a shower before entering the pool.
- No street shoes allowed on the pool deck.
- During lap swim circle pattern is used, swimmers are on the right side of the lane down and back.
- Inflatable or water rings are not allowed in the pool.
- Glass is not allowed in the pool area.
- Food or drink is prohibited around the pool.
- Animals are not allowed in the pool area.
- Unnecessary noise is not permitted at any time.
- Facility management reserves the right to deny any use of the pool to anyone at anytime.
- No running, pushing, or rough play.
- Socializing with or distracting the lifeguard(s) on duty is prohibited.
- Please leave all bags and personal items in the locker room.
- Staff not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Proper swim attire must be worn. No cut offs or t-shirts allowed.
- Spitting and blowing of nose into the pool or onto deck is prohibited.
- Children 12 years old and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Children 5 years and older must use appropriate locker room.
- Infants should be changed in locker room or unisex rooms, not deck.
- Masks, snorkels, and fins will be allowed for lap swimming only. Fins must be training fins (constructed of soft materials and not wider than eight inches).
- All persons using the pool do so at own risk.
- No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs is allowed in the pool.
Spa Rules
- Women who are or might be pregnant should seek physician’s advice before use of spa.
- Bathers suffering from disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure should consult a physician before using spa.
- Bathers with seizure, heart or circulatory problems are advised to swim with a partner.
- Spa use should be limited to fifteen minutes at any one session.
- No running on deck or horseplay in spa.
- Do not use spa when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Food or drink is not allowed in the spa water.
- If you have a communicable disease that can be transmitted by water or have been ill with diarrhea or vomiting in the last two weeks, do not use the spa.
- A cleansing shower is required before using the spa.
- Persons failing to follow rules are subject to removal from the premises.
- All persons using the spa do so at own risk.
- Children under 12 years or younger should not use the spa for longer than 10 minutes and should be accompanied by an adult.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays: Direction – Clockwise
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays: Direction – Counter Clockwise

Eligibility Requirements for Patrons
Campus Recreational Service participation focuses on but is not limited to students, faculty, staff, partners/spouses and dependants. Other individuals may be eligible for participation based on facility and program guidelines.
Student Members (those taking 3.5 credits or more) for Open Recreation and Group Fitness Classes
Students whose membership in the SRWC is automatic through payment of fees via their enrolled status as undergraduate or graduate students currently are not required to complete the waiver form for entry into the SRWC. If a student drops or withdrawals from classes and falls below the 3.5 credit limit, they lose the privileges of the student membership and must obtain another form of membership to enter.
Faculty/Staff, Community and Students purchasing memberships (those taking less than 3.5 credits)
Any persons, 18 years of age or older, with a valid government issued ID is eligible for a membership with the SRWC. All new members must fill out and sign the appropriate paper work and provide identification as well as payment at the time of initial purchase. Anyone without a current rebel card must purchase one for $20.00 at the Rebel Card office in the Student Union with 7 days of the original membership purchase (no entrance will be permitted after 7 days, without a rebel card).
Campus Recreational Programs (elective participation)
Students, faculty/staff members, community members or outside community may be required to complete a waiver form for all elective participation in CRS programs, services and activities. Eligibility requirements may differ according to the program.
Camps and rental groups
These participants will be required to fill out forms with the Student Union and Event Services office in association with their group. They can be contacted at 895-4449 for rental and reservation questions.
Aquatic Programs and Services
Participants will be required to sign a waiver form for themselves and/or their child to participate in these programs and services.
University of Nevada Las Vegas’s Student Code of Conduct is enforced at all times. Violators may be ejected from the facility. Serious incidents or repeated abusers will be subjected to sanctions under the Student Code of conduct. Non-student offenders or repeat abusers will be subjected to sanctions by the SRWC staff. Sanctions may include, but are not limited to: suspension from the facility, revoking of privileges, student disciplinary sanctions, civil prosecutions, and others.
