Subject: Response to the Bill Proposal to Ban Youth Tackle Football and a Request for Action

Dear Wildcat Family,

On February 9, 2018, two California legislators, Kevin McCarty (D-Sacramento), and Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego) announced a bill called the Safe Youth Football Act that proposes the lawful ban of youth tackle football statewide. The Coyote Creek Youth Sports and Peninsula Pop Warner oppose this bill and have published a press release. Please visit to read the press release.

We need your voice to be heard to address this unfortunate proposal to take your freedom of choice with youth football away from you. If this ball is passed, your children will no longer be able to play youth tackle football.

Your help is specifically requested to take the following two actions.

  1. Go to and sign the petition NOW. It will take 2 minutes to do so right from your phone.
  2. Go to to find your local representative and tell them that you are against this bill and will not vote for them in the next election if this bill is passed.

We are working closely with Peninsula Pop Warner, National Pop Warner, USA Football, and other Youth Football Leaders in our state. This concern is beginning to become more visible across our country. We are committed to continuing to serve you through the great sport of football and will continue the work of making our sport safer each year. You can stay in touch with our state level leaders by visiting

Please let me know if you have any questions. Stay tuned for additional updates as we approach the 2018 season.

Sincerely,

Andre K. Hunt

President
