  10. Please see additional instructions below on how to change the permanent code.
  11. Note: you can use the same two iB keys to set up multiple cabinets.

Getting Started:

The EasyViewWall Mount Cabinet will come with the door closed and locked. On the outside of the cabinet you will find taped a set of two metal keys – these keys are for the key over-ride CAM lock and one plastic iB key (pictured below) – this key is for the electronic lock. To initially open the cabinet, insert the metal key into the key over-ride lock and turn the key counter clock wise 90 degrees. The door should now be unlocked. Open the door and use the same key to turn the CAM lock clockwise 90 degrees to the locked position.

With the cabinet door open, remove the single phillips head screw(at the top)on the back of the electronic lockremove cover plate - install (4) AA batteries. With the batteries installed you are now ready to set up the electronic lock.

iB Key Set-up:

Note: Two iB keys will be required to set up the electronic lock. One will be called the “Owner Key” and the second will be called the “Master Key”.

  1. Set-up“Owner”iBKey:

First thing you will need to do is set up the electronic lock by matching one iB key to the electronic lock. **(Note: it does not matter which color iB key is used). One iB key is supplied with each wall mounted cabinet – if only one cabinet is ordered, two iB keys will be supplied with the cabinet.

Once the batteries are installed in the electronic lock, touch oneiB key to the round receptor on the front keypad of the

electronic lock (the receptor is the round port located right above the numbered keypad on the front of the lock – pictured below). After three short beeps thisiB key is now set as the “Owner Key” for this electronic lock.

Note: Only one owner key is allowed for each lock however the same owner key can be set-up as the owner key for multiple electronic lock cabinets. Typically, one owner key will be set up for all of the EasyView Wall Mounted Cabinets in the facility or all of the cabinets on a given floor. The “Owner key” can be used to lock or unlock the cabinet (For example the owner key can be used by an administrator to unlock and lock the cabinet or it can be used to open the cabinet if the keypad combination is forgotten). To unlock the cabinet with the owner key, touch the owner key to the lock receptor. The lock will beep and unlock. To lock the cabinet with the owner key touch the owner key to the lock receptor – the lock will beep and the cabinet will lock. The owner key is also used to issue or change the “Master Key” – discussed next.

**Now that the owner key has been matched to the cabinet, you will use thisiB owner key to set-up a second iB key called the “Master Key”. **(Note: it does not matter which color iB key is used).

  1. Set-up“Master” iB Key:

Touch the owner key on the receptor. The blue light will flash. While the blue light is flashing, touch a secondiB key to the receptor, after a beep, this iB key will now be the “Master Key” for this locking cabinet.

Note: A maximum of three master keys are allowed per lock. The same master key can be set up as the master key on multiple electronic lock cabinets. Typically, one master key will be set up for all of the EasyView Wall Mounted Cabinets in the facility or all of the cabinets on a given floor. The “Master Key” can be used to unlock and lock the cabinet. The master key is also used to issue/delete the permanent code on the electronic lock keypad.

**Now that the master key has been matched to the cabinet, you will use this iB master key to set-up the permanent code on the electronic keypad.

  1. Set Permanent Code:(Electronic Lock Keyless Access)

You are now ready to set a personal code that can be entered on the front keypad to lock and unlock the cabinet. To set the permanent code, touch the “Master Key” (not the owner key) on the receptor, the blue light will flash. While the blue light is flashing push the “*” (star) button on the keypad, then enter the desired permanent code on the keypad, followed by pushing the “#” (pound) button, after a beep, this is now your permanent code. The permanent code can be entered as one (1) digit minimum up to a maximum of nine (9) digits.

Unlock By Permanent Code:

Start by pressing “*” (star) on the keypad, then enter the permanent code followed by “#” (pound), after a beep, the blue light is on, the door is unlocked.

**Note: If an incorrect code is entered three times in a row, the lock will send an alarm – series of “beeps” lasting 60 seconds. After 60 seconds the alarm will shut off or the alarm can be silenced by unlocking the cabinet with either the master or owner iB key.

Lock By Permanent Code:

The lock will automatically lock several seconds after the permanent code is entered to unlock the cabinet. Due to the auto locking feature, the user will need to just push the cabinet door shut and the cabinet is now locked. If the lock is unlocked by using either the owner key or master key, the cabinet will not auto-lock and can be locked by entering the permanent code on the lock keypad (or by using the master or owner iB key). With the cabinet unlocked start by pressing the “*” (star) on the keypad, then enter the permanent code followed by the “#” (pound), the door is now locked.

Delete/Change Permanent Code:

To delete the current permanent code, touch the “master key” continually twice on the receptor, after 3 beeps, the permanent code is deleted. To enter a new permanent code, see instructions above “Set Permanent Code”.

Deleting A Master Key:

To delete a master key access from the lock, touch the owner key on the receptor continually twice, after three beeps, the master key(s) are now deleted. To re-issue a master key see “Issue Master Key” instructions above.

Owner Key Change:

To change the owner key, you will need to access the backside of the lock keypad. Open the cabinet door and remove the three phillips head screws below the battery chamber as well as two screws located behind the batteries. This will separate the electronic lock (the back battery and latch mechanism from the front keypad). On the backside of the keypad you will see a reset button. Press the reset button, (make sure that the batteries have been re-installed) after three long beeps, all existing keys are deleted. Reassemble the lock and touch an iB key on the receptor, after 3 short beeps, the iB key is now the new owner key.

Set One-time Code:

The EasyView Keyless Wall Mounted Cabinet can be set up for a one-time code setting. To set the electronic lock up for a one-time code you will need to open the cabinet door and remove the three Phillips screws (at the bottom)on the back of the lock(as well as two screws behind the batteries) so you can access and change the dip switch settings on the backside of the lock keypad. Please see manufacturer’s instructions (attached) for dipswitch settings and instructions on setting the lock to the “One-time Code” setting.

Low Battery Alarm:

When the battery voltage drops to or below DC 4.4 (+/- .02) Volts the lock will emit a series of “beeps” when the lock is unlocked (by either the iB key or code) – this is a low battery alarm and the batteries will need to be replaced. Under a low battery condition, the lock will still open and close approximately 150 times before the batteries go dead.

Emergency Unlocking:

In the event the batteries go completely dead before changing them, the lock can be powered by inserting a battery pack in the emergency socket located at below the electronic lock keypad. Emergency battery pack sold separately.

In addition to the emergency battery pack, the EasyView cabinet is equipped with a key over-ride lock. The key over-ride lock can be used to open the cabinet door in the event the batteries are completely dead and the cabinet door can’t be opened with the electronic lock.

Key Over-ride Lock:

The EasyView Keyless Wall Mounted Cabinet comes equipped with a key over-ride lock. Each unit is supplied with two keys. You will notice a key code stamped on both the key and the lock itself – these numbers should match.

The key over-ride lock allows the user to access the EasyView with the key (instead of the electronic lock). Possible reasons in accessing the EasyView with the over-ride key instead of the electronic lock include but are not limited to:

  1. The user of the EasyView forgot the combination and the unit is locked.
  2. The batteries are dead on the electronic lock and the EasyView is locked.
  3. Provides greater flexibility in the workplace – For example, an EasyView can be issued to an employee. This employee can set a personal combination on the electronic lock to gain access. In addition, an administrator or stock person can gain access using the key over-ride lock.

Tamper Proof Seal Option:

The EasyView comes equipped with a tamper-proof feature. A tamper proof seal can be inserted through the metal loop strap (located to the left of the door knob) and wrapped around the cabinet knob located on the door - to ensure the contents of the cabinet are not tampered with and provide an extra level of security.

Adjustable Shelves:

The EasyView cabinet comes equipped with three shelves – one permanently mounted at the bottom of the cabinet and two adjustable (removable) shelves for your convenience. If it is desired to remove the two adjustable shelves, they can be stored in the top slot inside the cabinet – so they are out of the way and do not get lost.

Mounting:

The EasyView comes standard with two mounting holes on the back of the cabinet so that the cabinet can be mounted to the wall. The cabinet can’t be removed from the wall unless the cabinet door is unlocked.

“Permanent Code” and “One-time Code” Setting:

The Be-Tech Electronic Keypad Cabinet Lock can be set-up to be locked/unlocked using either a “Permanent Code” or a “One-time Code”. A “Permanent Code” is a user selected personal code that is entered into the lock and can be used over and over. The user can change the “Permanent Code” at any time with use of the iB master key (covered later in these instructions or in the manufacturer’s operating instruction).

In the “Permanent Code” setting the lock will auto-lock itself several seconds after unlocking the lock. The “Permanent Code” mode is typically used when a single person or persons (staff or administrators) will be accessing the cabinet (for example doctors and nurses accessing the contents of the cabinet).

In the “One-time Code” setting, the user enters a personal code into the lock. When the current user is done with the lock, they leave the lock in the “unlocked” position and a new user can enter their own personal code and so on.

In the “One-time Code” mode the lock does not auto-lock itself. The user enters their personal code to lock the unit and the same code to unlock the unit. After the unit is unlocked a new personal code can be entered into the lock and so on. The “One-time Code” mode is typically used when one user is accessing the cabinet at a time but over the course of time will be used by multiple users. For example the “One-time Code” would be used if the cabinet was mounted in a patient room and the patients would enter their own personal combination to lock up their personal belongings or personal medications. When the patient is discharged they would leave the cabinet in the unlocked position and the next patient could enter a new personal code and so on.
