Academic Qualifications and Cancellation Policy

Academic Qualification:

Students who intend to travel with the RHS choral department on the 2015 Italy performance trip must be academically eligible in all classes according to U.I.L., district, and/or RHS standards for the fourth six weeks of the 2014-15 school year. The fourth six weeks grading period ends begins in January 2015 and ends in February 2015. Students failing one or more classes will be academically ineligible to travel on March 12 and 13th of 2015. Students who are not academically eligible will not be allowed to miss school for the Italy trip. According to UIL and TEA guidelines the Italy trip is an extracurricular activity and therefore “No Pass, No Play” applies. Academic ineligibility does not cancel the contractual agreement with USI Touring Company.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations and requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the RHS choral department. All documents, including tickets of any value, must be returned to USIT before any refund can be processed. Cancellation charges, per person, are assessed against the applicable fare and may be as much as shown here: 90 days or more before departure, up until 12/12/14, 25% of applicable fare ($747.03); 90 to 60 days before departure, up until 1/12/15, 50% of applicable fare ($1,494.06); 60-40 days before departure, up until 2/1/15, 75% of applicable fare ($2,241.08); 40 or fewer days before departure, no refund will be granted. No refunds will be given until after the original dates of travel.

Emergency Cancellation:

If the full tour is canceled because of district disapproval due to unsafe travel conditions or due to the Agent deciding prevailing conditions are not safe enough to conduct the tour, the cancellation penalty will be reduced to 12% of the total fare for all passengers so long as written cancellation is received by the Agency from the approving authority, plus the cost of items such as event tickets, airline deposits, vendor penalties, hotel deposits, or any other payments made on your behalf that become non-refundable. The cost of these items will be added to the 12% penalty assessed.
