WKC CH SHOW 2017

NOVA SCOTIA DUCK TOLLERS

My first time giving CCs & I thank the exhibitors for a lovely entry with plenty of good dogs for me to choose from. It seems like only yesterday that I judged the club open show but it was back in 2014, so I was surprised to see that I gave BOB to the same dog who won best dog under me then. Just goes to show what stayers this breed is.

VD (3) 1 Harding & Whitehill’s Sh Ch Trevargh The Entertainer at Brizewood, mature dog who belies his age, he is in excellent coat & condition, lovely masculine head & expression, well made & moved so soundly looking particularly good in profile with his correct head carriage, he is very masculine in outlook with & good neck & shoulders, strong topline & well set tail. At the end of the dogs, I could see nothing to lower his flag & I was pleased to award him the RCC & BV and he went on to 3rd in the Veteran Group; 2 Powley’s Danehave Severn, older male who moved so well holding his topline & well carried tail, has a masculine head & expression with good expressive ears, he is of a good size & proportions with a lovely coat which was beautifully presented, good hindquarters, well boned legs & feet; 3 Ward’s Melanitta Fireblade. PD (1) 1 Ede’s Redaurora Follow That Dream, lovely puppy just right for age, he has lots of potential, in good puppy coat with a good head which is maturing nicely, moved just as a puppy should, he is loose at present but he is well made with the correct length of neck, lovely bone & feet, good depth of chest for age, good proportions. LD (6) 1 Wakely’s Riverwatcher Kaviksuk, mature dog who fills the eye, excellent head & expression, he is balanced with enough coat which was in lovely condition, god neck & shoulders, strong topline & tailset, would just prefer a stronger hindquarter & a better bend of stifle but this doesn’t hold him back as he effortlessly covers the ground & moves soundly up & back. Won the class on his type, quality & showmanship; 2 Strevens’ Erikachen Conaire at Tollisty, nice male who moved well really using his forequarters to advantage, excellent head & expression, good neck & shoulders, strong topline, well boned legs & feet, this was a strong class & he showed well to win his place for he was balanced with excellent body proportions; 3 Moult & Savory’s Acanuck Soul Rebel of Croftwell.
