The Thomas Merton Center’s 18th annual Celebrity Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, May 23 from 7:30am-9:00am at the Holiday Inn at 1070 Main Street in Bridgeport. This year’s speaker is Charles V. “Chuck” Firlotte, President and CEO of Aquarion Water Company.

Merton programs.”

Mr. Firlotte was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Aquarion Company in September of 2003. Aquarion Company's principal business is public water supply and through its Aquarion Water Company subsidiaries, it is one of the 10 largest investor-owned water utilities in the U.S. serving the North Eastern States of Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Aquarion is a subsidiary of Macquarie Utilities Inc. of NYC, a division of Macquarie Bank of Sydney, Australia.

Firlotte joined Aquarion Water Company’s predecessor, Bridgeport Hydraulic Company (BHC), in 1987 as Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services. He was elected a Vice President in 1988 and in 1991, Vice President of Aquarion Water’s parent, Aquarion Company. He later served the company as its Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. From 2000 to August 2003, Chuck relocated to the U.K. as Director of Yorkshire Water, for Aquarion’s former parent company, Kelda Group, Inc. At Yorkshire Water, he was responsible for providing water and waste water services to more than 4.7 million people and 140,000 businesses.
