A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Millie Jones Curd.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Millie Jones Curd, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.
WHEREAS, Millie Jones Curd was born on October 9, 1936, a native of Marshall County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Murray, Calloway County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on February 19, 2001; and
WHEREAS, Millie Jones Curd was the loving daughter of the late Isaac Wyman Jones and Ellie Pearl Jones, and she was also preceded in death by a brother, Isaac "Ikey" Jones; she was the devoted wife of former State Representative Freed Curd; she was the loving mother of three daughters, Tammy Curd, of Franklin County, Denise Steele and her husband, Steve, and Stacey McCuiston and her husband, Kenneth, all of Murray; and she was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren; and she also leaves behind a loving sister-in-law, Sylvia Curd, a nephew, Jeff Curd, and a niece, Vicky Ladt, all of Paducah; and
WHEREAS, Millie Jones Curd was an esteemed member of the Calloway County community where she graduated from Murray High School, and she also graduated from Murray State University in 1957; she was a retired school teacher and a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Millie Jones Curd has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Millie Jones Curd, and extends to her family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Millie Jones Curd.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Freed Curd, 1607 Sycamore, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
