This year's conference explores how studying evidence helps us to understand objects. Papers will take a long hard look at first-hand evidence with a critical eye in order to understand what it tells us about the object. A strong ecclesiastical thread is provided by visits to the Anglican Cathedral and Liverpool Archives

Friday 1st Nov
- 10.00am Visit to Anglican Cathedral to see exhibition of ecclesiastical textiles and East Grinstead Archive.
- 12.00-1.00pm lunch
- 1.30- 2.30 Visit to Liverpool Archives to see Kemp Altar frontal and talk by Pauline Rushton (curator of Liverpool Museum) on Charles Kempe.
- 2.45pm Registration and tea/coffee at Rex Makin Lecture Theatre
- 3.15 AGM
- 4.15 Lecture by Professor Gale Owen-Crocker. ‘Fools in the Bayeux Tapestry.’
- 7.00 Society evening dinner

- Talks and lectures all day in Rex Makin Lecture Theatre -programme to be finalised

- Trip 'over the water' to Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead to see A.H.Lee Archive
- Curator Colin Simpson will give a talk and show us textiles.
