June 1 Tuesday Required Transition Two program for Class of 2012 begins.

June 4 Friday Required Transition Two program for Class of 2012 concludes.

June 7 Monday Academic year begins for third and fourth year students. Third and Fourth year clerkships begin.

Fall tuition due.

July 5 Monday Fourth of July observed. NJMS holiday for all students.*

July 30 Friday Last day for third and fourth year students to take leave/withdraw from the Fall term with an 80% tuition refund.

August 9 Monday Required Orientation program begins for first year students.

August 13 Friday Orientation concludes for first year students.

August 16 Monday Academic year begins for first year students. Fall tuition due.

August 16 Monday Academic year begins for second year students. Required orientation for second year students at 8:00 a.m. Fall tuition due.

September 6 Monday Labor Day observed. NJMS holiday for all students.*

September 9 Thursday Rosh Hashanah (Clinical departments should excuse all observing third and fourth year students at least one hour before sundown the prior evening).

September 18 Saturday Yom Kippur (Clinical departments should excuse all observing third and fourth year students at least one hour before sundown the prior evening).

September 24 Friday Last day for first and second year students to take leave/withdraw from the Fall term with an 80% tuition refund.

November 6 Saturday Class of 2011 deadline to sit and record a score for USMLE Step 2 CS.

November 19 Friday Thanksgiving recess begins for third and fourth year students at 5:00 p.m.

November 24 Wednesday Thanksgiving recess begins for first and second year students at 5:00 p.m.

November 25-28 Thurs. – Sun. Thanksgiving recess continues for all students.

November 29 Monday All classes and clerkships resume.

December 23 Thursday Winter recess begins for all students at 5:00 p.m.

January 3 Monday Academic year resumes for all students. Spring tuition due.

January 17 Monday Martin Luther King, Jr. Day observed. NJMS holiday for all students.*

January 28 Friday Last day for fourth year students to take leave/withdraw from the Spring term with an 80% tuition refund. Last day for second year students to take leave/withdraw from the Spring term with an 80% tuition refund.

January 29 Saturday Class of 2011 deadline to sit and record a score for USMLE Step 2 CK.

February 4 Friday Last day for third year students to take leave/withdraw from the Spring term with an 80% tuition refund.

February 18 Friday Last day for first year students to take leave/withdraw from the Spring term with an 80% tuition refund.

February 24 Thursday Required Financial Aid exit interview for fourth year students. (TENTATIVE)

March 11 Friday Spring recess begins for first year students at 5:00 p.m.

March 12-20 Sat.-Sun. Spring recess continues for first year students.

March 17 Thursday Match Day. Fourth year students should be excused in time to be at NJMS by 11:30 a.m.
