Compliance & Training Manager

Position: Compliance Manager & Training Manager

Reports To: President

General Description: The basic function of the Compliance & Training Manager is to oversee the compliance with the various government agencies from a safety perspective, develop and track employee safety training programs for all company personnel. Some of the compliance related records this position is responsible for maintaining are; OSHA, Environmental, Workers' Compensation, MSDS, ISNetworld, Employee Safety Training to name a few.

Qualifications: This person should have experience in developing safety/compliance programs, experience in developing an orientation program. This person must also have knowledge of legal safety compliance issues to include environmental issues. In addition this person must be proficient in, MS Office, Excel & show strong communication skills both verbal and written. Other skills; Phone Skills, People Skills, Supports Diversity, Results Driven, Professionalism, Organization, Project Management, Judgment , and Detailed Oriented. Limited travel is required.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

I. Compliance

1. Issue PPE and safety gear at corporate office. Provide copy of documentation to HR for personnel file.

2. Tasked with accident investigations and incident reporting and providing documents to HR Manager.

3. Oversee compliance of equipment inspections and documentation.

4. Maintain required updates to ISNetworld.

5. Maintain MSDS documentation.

6. Provide records for contractual obligations of safety requirements.

7. Maintain computer “safety info” files for jobs.

8. Check and respond as needed to emails.

9. Print and file electronic tailgate meeting records in binders according to job number.

10. Print and file electronic mobile equipment inspections in binder according to job number.

11. Check mailbox at reception area for additional reports/etc. to file as above.

12. Collect & file field site inspections from the Safety Coordinator in binders according to job number.

13. Collect & file equipment inspections and documentation.

14. Ensure recording of monthly training is conducted, entered into the training matrix, training spreadsheet, and filed both hard copy and electronically. (ISNetworld)

15. Order safety and fall protection supplies as needed utilizing purchase requisition form.

A. Track cost

16. Work with HR manager to report OSHA 300 Log.

17. Work with HR manager to report annual performance information onto ISNetworld website questionnaire.

18. Review hazardous waste determination and update as needed.

19. Conduct SDS updates, preferably current to within 3 years. Print all updated information and replace outdated SDS in binders. Save/replace electronic form SDS on (W:) drive.

20. Review and report site substance inventories and amounts to State Fire Marshal, reporting any significant changes in inventories/amounts on report as needed.

21. Plan and post compliance calendar.

22. All other duties as assigned.

II. Training

1. Develop and maintain safety training programs.

A. Monitor safety training programs for up to date and covers all legal requirements

B. Perform safety training at the corporate office.

C. Perform safety training to new employees at corporate office

2. Track employee training using corporate “employee tracking program”

A. Perform reoccurring training before the expiration dates.

III. Safety

1. Safety Audits

A. Perform the initial & final safety audit of field jobs

a. Record and inform management of the results.

b. Make recommendations for improvement

B. Have the Safety Coordinator to perform the intermediary safety audits

C. Perform safety audit at fab & machine shop.

a. Record and inform management of the results.

b. Make recommendations for improvement

III. Attendance

1. Do to the nature of this position it is important that you show up on time and on a regular basis.

11. Submit weekly, monthly, & quarterly reports by the due date.

12. Attend all management & related meetings regularly

13. Submit Travel reports the week before travel is to occur.

Work Environment:

Professional office environment: Involves up to 50+ hours per week, 90% sitting and working at a computer/video display terminal and 10% walking gathering information and assisting new hires. General working hours are 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday. These hours and days may change based on work load and special events/meetings.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to type on a keyboard.
