We encourage all Mount Tabor seniors and parents to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online by the earliest deadline of the colleges and universities where students are applying for admission. All federal and North Carolina forms of financial aid are determined after completion of the FAFSA.

The WS/FCS Student Service Department will host one more Financial Aid Information Session for Parents and Students on January 10, 2013 at 6 pm at the Education Building, located at 4801 Bethania Station Road.

Make sure that you have researched all scholarship opportunities at the colleges and universities where you have applied or intend to apply……and follow through with directions and meeting deadlines.

Forsyth County high school students should review scholarship opportunities available through the WINSTON-SALEM FOUNDATION. Go to to explore scholarships and the common scholarship application. The application becomes available on January 1, 2013, and the deadline to apply for all scholarships is April 1, 2013.

FAFSA Day is scheduled for February 23, 2013 at sites across North Carolina. Students may register for FAFSA Day at CFNC.org. This an opportunity to receive immediate assistance in filing your FAFSA. Mount Tabor High School will offer FAFSA assistance on February 23, 2013 also. Parents and students may receive assistance from 9 am to noon on that day. Criteria:Seniors from Mount Tabor, North Forsyth, West Forsyth or Reagan High Schools; based on need & merit

Awards:$100 and $200 scholarships

KING’S COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP DAY

Criteria:Graduating seniors attending high school in one of eleven specific NC counties (including Forsyth) and planning to attend North Carolina State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, or UNC-Greensboro; excellent academic achievement, financial need (FAFSA filing required), community service/work experience and leadership

Important Note: The 2013-14 FAFSA cannot be accessed until January 1, 2013 and it must be submitted by the January 31, 2013 deadline. Most students will need to use estimated financial information in order to submit the FAFSA by the deadline.
