Thank you for your interest in nominating a candidate for the MSCPA Outstanding Educator of the Year award. The Academic and Career Development Committee will review nominations and select a winner for recognition at the Annual Awards Ceremony on May 14, 2014 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, Boston. At that time, an award in the amount of $1,000 will be presented to the recipient along with a matching gift to the accounting department of his/her college in honor of this achievement.

To be eligible for the Outstanding Educator Award, your nominee must be:

  • A full-time accounting educator at a college or university.
  • Distinguished for excellence in classroom teaching, motivating students, and educational innovation.
  • Contributing to the accounting profession, as demonstrated by active involvement in professional activities, such as, participation in professional accounting organizations.
  • An active MSCPA member
  • Someone who has served as a liaison between the classroom and the business world.

Educators who are noted for their teaching abilities but are now predominantly involved in administration or research are also eligible for the award.
