Greetings from ABPS!
Please find a brief report on the major events and happenings of the previous six months:
School Annual Function:
The long awaited school annual function was showcased on 7th-8th May, 2012. The Chief Guest Mr. B. S. Yadav Principal, Delhi Public School, Jodhpur graced the occasion. We also had the privilege of inviting the School Chairman Mr. Rahul Mohnot as the Guest of Honour. The budding talents from KG to XIIth standard presented various programmes like traditional group dances, group songs and English and Hindi skits. Various awards and prizes were given away to achievers of different groups and houses.
Board results:
The board results for class XII as well as class X had shown improvement:
· Out of a total of 25 students who appeared for their class XII board examination, 22 students scored above 60 percent with total of 57 subject distinctions. The overall aggregate percentage in commerce stream was 69.11% [Highest percentage being 88.8%] while in science stream it was 72.70% [Highest percentage being 92.86%].
· Out of a total of 39 students in class X, Kartik Katariya got 10 CGPA, 11 students got 9 and above CGPA, 8 students got above 8 CGPA and 13 students got above 7 CGPA.
Re- Certification for ISO 9001: 2008
A two member team from DNV, New Delhi, conducted a detailed audit on 26th and 27th of July, 2012. On the basis of their findings, overall assessment, interaction and evaluation, the school was recommended for re-certification for ISO 9001-2008 certificate. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the ABPS staff, students and parents for this recognition.
Teachers’ training and seminars:
Teachers’ seminar has by all means benefited our staff by enhancing their horizon of knowledge by giving them an opportunity to learn. During the last six months seminars and dialogues covering topics viz. “Art of Teaching” were conducted and a lot of meaningful learning was implemented.
Book Fair:
This was organized in collaboration with Book Tractor Pvt. Ltd. on 29th and 30th August, 2012. At the book fair there were several stalls having hundreds of books from several reputed publishers to inculcate the wonderful habit of reading among the students.
School celebrations and competitions:
Inter house activities of diverse nature were conducted right from the beginning of the session. The competition comprises activities related to the sphere of cultural, academics and art & craft. These activities aim at providing the students ample opportunity to hone their skills. The school is committed to facilitate students with adequate resources and guidance in order to develop their non-academic interests through such activities.
· Major activities organized during this period include ball pen painting, design making, poster making, creative writing, solo song & group song, rakhi making, water colour painting, acrylic painting, wall painting, Hindi skit and sketching & shading.
· To commemorate India’s 65th Independence Day celebration various cultural and sports events were organized wherein students took active part to showcase their talent and skills in events like group songs and various games sports. The unit head felicitated the winners in various sports and games activities with prizes.
· The most auspicious day in any school is the observation of Teachers’ Day on 5th of September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Students from classes III to XII expressed their love for the teachers by presenting them with handmade greeting cards. Students also organized cultural and sports events for the teachers. The celebration concluded with a dinner on 6th of September, 2012 which was hosted by the members of the school management committee.
· On 14th of September, 2012 the school celebrated Hindi Diwas. It was conducted under the guidance of Hindi department to highlight the importance of the language as a cultural pride.
Summative-I, Half yearly and I-Pre Board Examinations:
I-Pre board examination for class XII, Summative -I for classes VI to X and Half yearly examination for the rest of the classes were conducted during the month of September. We wish the very best for your wards.
