Night Reading Schedule, Assignments, Due Dates, and Points Possible
From November 1 through December 8, our class will read Night, a non-fiction, autobiographical novel written by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.
· Reading will be done in class and at home.
· Assessments include chapter quizzes, vocabulary worksheets, Cornell notes, and a final exam / essay.
· All quizzes will be given at the beginning of the class period; therefore, all reading should be completed prior to the dates listed below. The page numbers listed below follow the Glencoe text.
· Each quiz will include multiple choice questions and vocabulary questions for each reading section.

Literary Response and Analysis 3.0, 3.11, 3.12
· Students will read and respond to a historically significant
work of literature that enhances their studies of history
and social science (R 3.0).
· Students will evaluate the aesthetic qualities of style, diction, figurative language, tone and theme in non-fiction literature (R 3.1).
· Students will analyze the way in which a work of literature is related to themes and issues of its historical period (R 3.12).
