About City Gateway

City Gateway’s mission is to bring hope to local communities in London in a practical way by helping the most disadvantaged and disengaged young people, and vulnerable women and families, remove barriers to progression and empowerment.

We were founded in 1999 in Tower Hamlets by City workers involved in local churches who were concerned by the inequalities they saw around them. We always seek to go the extra mile for our service users, providing intensive support programmes; vocational skills training; work placements; and Apprenticeships to those most in need. We are an equal opportunities employer committed to achieving best practice in every area of our work.

The effectiveness of our best practice approach is visible in our results. In 2013-14, 81% of our 14-16 year old learners progressed into further education or employment; 88% of our 16-19 year old learners progressed into work or an Apprenticeship; and 76% of our apprentices secured permanent employment, 59% with the same employer.

We provide excellent in-work benefits, a creative and dynamic working environment, and the chance to shine in an award-winning Ofsted Outstanding charity. Having grown exponentially over the last 15 years, we continue to expand and develop our services to bring hope to more people every year.
