With the help of The RPI School of Engineering, RPI AIAA was able to travel to Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield, CT to tour the manufacturing facilities and helicopter hangars. RPI AIAA was able to afford students with the opportunity to see real-life examples of cutting edge aerospace engineering. 10 students participated in the Kaman trip.


At Rensselaer, the president of AIAA sits on the Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering (MANE) Department Student Advisory Council. Through this position, RPI AIAA was also able to bring Dr. Jayanth Kudva, President and Founder of NextGen Aerospace to campus for a lecture. Through the same council, RPI AIAA brought Boeing designer and chief engineer Daniel Newman to campus for a lecture. These events were attended by hundreds of students.
