TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE

Following my graduation from LawSchool I worked for two years as an apprentice in two law offices in Athens, Greece. Within this framework, I used to prepare contracts, articles of association, lawsuits, etc. During my translation studies, my specialization and focus was Legal and Financial Translation, since I wished to take advantage of my previous knowledge in the field.

In 2000, while still at translation school, I started working for Lumiere SA (a Greek subtitling company) in association with BBC World, translating BBC shows in Greek from their basis in Athens, Greece and London, UK for two years (2000, 2001).This involved my staying and working in London, UK, on and off for a period of time where I enhanced considerably my knowledge of the English language. I also translated Discovery Channel, History Channel, National Geographic and TRAVEL Channel shows.

In 2002, I started working as an in-house translator/proof-reader/ project manager for Logos Translations LTD (of the global, prestigious LOGOS family of translation companies) in Athens, Greece, editing a vast variety of texts, however, due to my specialization, mostly legal and financial texts. Since 2003, I have been working full-time as a freelance translator translating a wide variety of texts (legal, financial, marketing, tourism, etc.).I’ve translated several marketing, management and leadership books for the prestigious PAPASSOTIRIOU publishing house in Athens, Greece. So, the hours of my working as a translator are, at least 8 hours aday for five days a week for the past 10 years…

In Greece, I have been doing business with recognized and respected translation companies as well as various other companies and lawyers (Logos Translations LTD, Intertranslations LTD, Mattel SA, Papassotiriou Publishing House O.E., Archetypon SA, Orco translationsSA etc.)

Translation currently accounts for 100% of my total income
