· Forget the jetted-in, pesticide-ridden flowers. Check out our green space map, explore somewhere new in Hackney and see the real thing with roots on!
· Chocolates? Then choose organic, fairtrade and a few of the very best locally made. Anthony Ferguson of Niko B (organic fairtrade & made in Hackney!) will be selling at the East London Design Studios this Saturday 8th Feb or you can buy his chocolates at La Duchess on Stoke Newington Church Street, Springfield Park Cafe and De Beauvoir Deli. Every other Saturday except 8/2 Anthony is at Stoke Newington Farmers’ Mkt.
· Something healthier? In the absence of artisan chocolates on Saturday 8th, Stoke Newington Farmers’ Market tell us they have plenty of beetroot. Beetroot? Well according to SNFM the Romans thought it an aphrodisiac. (I kid you not!) Not your thing? They’ve got other goodies too – so good they won Best Independent Retailer – Observer Food Monthly Awards 2012 and the BBC Food & Farming Awards 2012 in the Big Food Idea category.
