XII.ADJOURNMENT

The Board of Trustees has scheduled a work session meeting on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. on the San Jacinto Campus in Room 200 to discuss General Obligation Bonds.

The Board of Trustees will meet Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. to participate in the LibraryResourceCenter ground breaking ceremony immediately followed by a Board work session in Room 130 on the Menifee Campus at 28237 La Piedra Road, Menifee, CA92584.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, 2005, 3:30 p.m., San Jacinto Campus, Room #200.

Board of Trustee meetings are LINKED to room 130 on the Menifee Campus.

RESOLUTION

It is recommended the Board of Trustees of the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District approves transfer of the attached budget appropriations.

BACKGROUND:

The 2004-2005 adopted budget represented the best estimates in both income and expenditures. As the year progresses we find some accounts with surplus funds and some underbudgeted. This agenda item provides the authorization to accomplish the needed transfers.

SUPERINTENDENT/PRESIDENT’S RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Trustees approves the transfers of appropriations.

BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:

BACKGROUND:

The District has been advised it will receive additional revenues for the general fund restricted in the amount of $41,039 for the Workforce Investment Act 231 grant.

SUPERINTENDENT/PRESIDENT’S RECOMMENDATIONS:

Whereas, the governing Board of the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District has determined that income in the amount of $41,039 is assured to said District in excess of amounts previously budgeted, and

Whereas, the governing Board of the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District can show just cause for the expenditure of such excess funds,

It is recommended that such excess of funds be appropriated according to the schedule on the attached page.

BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:

The adoption of this resolution will increasethe general fund restricted by $41,039 (fund 12). A budget for the above programs will be filed with the Riverside County Office of Education and administered according to the state Budget and Accounting Manual, the Education Code, and Board Policy.

RESOLUTION

It is recommended the Board of Trustees of the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District denies a formal bid protest received by the District dated November 16, 2004.

BACKGROUND:

A bid protest was received by the second lowest bidder requesting the lowest bidder for bid package #17, HVAC/Controls, for the new LearningResourceCenter be disqualified. District’s legal counsel has recommended this bid protest be denied.

It is recommended the Board of Trustees denies the bid protest.
