Short summary (200-300 words) of the proposed session:

About 50 countries belong to the so called “tropical zone”. It compromises CentralAmerica and South America (except Argentina, Chile and Uruguay). Also Far East as India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Philippines, etc. Arabian countries.

These countries have very similar health problems, similar causes for epilepsy, and similar problems in treatment, diagnosis and rehabilitation.

These countries appear too dependent from north and south, and don’t have any chance in leadership which may decrease research in very specific and critical topics, as tropical diseases, infections, food , customs and habits. I propose to create a fifth region: “equatorial zone.”
