Welcome to the latest flyer.

What a busy start to the year we have had. I hope you all had a nice Christmas. During the year ahead we will see the return of some activities including snooker, quiz night and fitness night. For later in the year we have funding for a coach trip, and we hope to organise a weekend away. The Chinese Zodiac New Year begins on January 28 and brings the Year of the Rooster. Next month sees the arrival of the new £1 coin (28th March 2017) here is link about this - please make sure you check out the key dates! Our new Behaviour Policy is includedwith the flyer.

The next flyer will be out by 20th February 2017. Please let me have feedback on our sessions, suggestions and ideas are always most welcome.

Short Break Outward Bound Weekend in Lake District.

Please let me know of you are interested in a weekend away in the Lake District at an outward bound centre. Weekend would include outdoor activities at a fully adapted specialist centre.

A weekend in the summer Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, with everything included.

Price around £275 including support/food/transport/everything...

  • Price per activity is half if you come with your own support staff.
  • If you are dropped off by a parent volunteer you still pay full price.
  • You can only come to one bowling or boccia, unless you come with your own support.
  • If you prefer you can pay for all your activities monthly by cheque, please ask for details.
  • If you would like a receipt for the payments for the activities this is available if you email Edward.

Other Activities:

Divine Dance run by Divine Days Creative Arts

Divine Days Thursday Dance Session 11am-12pm, first session is free then just £3.50 thereafter which includes refreshments. The dance session is at The Greenhill Community Hub, Beech Close, Skelmersdale.

Calling parents/carers!

Divine Days' Community Connections project allows people to try activities they used to enjoy and to sample new activities. Our session allows you dip into a wide variety of activities, learn a new skill, crafts, painting, look at local history books and artefacts from when you were younger, board games, model making and more. With refreshments. Sessions are run by qualified staff.

Thursdays at the Greenhill Community Hub, Beech Close, Skelmersdale. £1.50 per session.

Activity Cancellations

We understand that sometimes it is necessary to cancel activities that you have booked. We would appreciate it however, if you could give at least 2 days’ notice of cancellation so that we have time to offer your place to someone else. If you don’t give 2 days’ notice, we may have to charge you the cost of the activity.

Activities information.

  • Bowling. Tenpin bowling at Southport bowling alley. Southport-Ocean Plaza, Premier Bowl.
  • Aerobics. Get fit under the expert eye of a qualified trainer. Old Peoples Club, Burscough.
  • Boccia and New Age Kurling. Burscough Wharf Arts Centre. Session by Domino Partnerships.
  • Wii games against your friends! Burscough Wharf Arts Centre. Session by Domino Partnerships.
  • Dance and Music. Sessions for all under the instruction of qualified tutors provided by Divine Days Creative Arts.
  • Snooker. Come to the 22 Club in Ormskirk for snooker/pool, next to Hesford’s.
  • Winter walk. On a Sunday afternoon a winter walk will blow the cobwebs away and keep you fit. Venue to be decided. Weather dependent.
  • Burscough Hub in association with Burscough Parish Council have teamed up with the WEA to provide free computer courses for residents of Burscough and surrounding areas.

The coursestarts on 14th February from 630pm-830pm on Tuesdays each week, with refreshments. The start time maybe later as time goes on. The courses are held at the Burscough Methodist Church Hall (upstairs room) and are suitable for absolute beginners and for improvers and you can bring your own computer or tablet or use ones provided. Sporting Challenge Activities with Timesavers are supporting you to go to the course, for £5 we will take you to the course and support you. Please book your place like any other activity.
