AUTOMOTIVE MECHANICS

This one-year program is designed to teach reading, writing, and math using tools and equipment found in an automotive garage setting. Students will learn read and comprehend shop manuals and technical bulletins. Math skills will be learned using measuring tools specific to the automotive trade. At the end of one-year student will have a strong working knowledge in ignitions systems, and electrical systems, body work, and engine repair.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY

This program is designed to provide students with an avenue to learn trades in the construction industry. Over the course of this two-year program, students learn general trades associated with the construction industry. The first year focuses on the basics. The second year, students will be afforded the opportunity to specialize in a specific area (i.e., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or framing). To gain practical hands-on experience, students will participate in the building of a house from the ground up. When not in the field, students participate in classroom training in the areas of environmental impact studies, safety, and reinforcement of applied mathematics.

Early Childhood Education

According to PPCC and the Community College numbering system, this course will articulate with ECE 101 at PPCC which requires the District to teach 80% of the same objectives.

1206311 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION provides an introduction to the profession of Early Childhood Education (ECE). Course content includes eight key areas of professional knowledge related to working with young children and their families in early care and education settings: child growth and development; health, nutrition and safety; developmentally appropriate practices; guidance; family and community relationships; diversity and inclusion; professionalism; and administration and supervision. This course addresses children ages birth through 8 years.

MARKETING EDUCATION

This one-year program focuses on the following concepts: channel management, marketing information management, market planning, pricing, economic systems, selling, and promotion. This Marketing program also is involved in the running of the school store and membership in the DECA program.

BAKERY DELI & CATERING

This one-year program is designed to provide students with the ability to learn, apply, and demonstrate the proper techniques and knowledge of developing and running a catering business, while giving them an opportunity to also advance their culinary skills and knowledge.

DRAMA AND DRAMATICS/THEATRE ARTS, GENERAL

Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, General is a two semester program designed to teach student theatrical skills and prepare them for a career or college degree in theater. Students learn basic stage conventions and performing skills with production as their goal. Students also learn what it takes to pursue a career or college degree in theatre arts. Students will participate in at least one main stage production.

BAKERY DELI & CATERING

Catering is a two semester program designed to teach students both Culinary skills and entrepreneurial skills. Students learn the basics of cooking with Catering as their goal. Students also learn what it takes to own their own business. Students start up a business within a class and do a minimum of 6 catering jobs.

BUSINESS EDUCATION

This one-year program is designed to enable students who complete two semesters of related business education classes to successfully enter the job market.

ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES

This one-year program is designed to prepare students for employment or further education in engineering, computer science, or technical studies. This course will feature robotics with focus subsets of design, mechanisms, drive systems, electrical systems, programming, & troubleshooting. Students will also be briefly introduced to applied concepts in physics, and CAD. Students work will lead to an occupational level or advanced education at college.
