* Applicants must be fluent in English to participate in the exchange program. Applicants may demonstrate fluency either by certifying their home program uses English as a primary language of instruction or by achievement on certain language aptitude tests. For example, STL accepts minimum scores of 90 points on the Internet-based TOEFL or 7 points on the IELTS. Applicants wishing to take Chinese law courses must submit proof of Mandarin Chinese proficiency (HSK Level 8 or above, or New HSK Level 5,210 points or above).

l  Personal statement – Please describe why you wish to study at STL, your educational objectives, professional goals, any areas of special interest, and previous international experiences, if any. Limit your statement to no more than 750 words.

l  Letter or e-mail from home school confirming that applicant has been nominated to participate in the exchange program

l  Official transcript (in English), including a description of home school’s grading system

l  Curriculum Vitae or resume with main academic and professional information

l  Proof of English proficiency (if necessary)

l  Proof of Mandarin Chinese proficiency (if wishing to take Chinese law courses)

l  One passport-size photograph (can be e-mailed as a JPG file)

l  One copy of the information page of the applicant’s passport

l  One copy of most recently obtained academic degree certificate or diploma
