Education Workforce
The Enquiries Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the management of information and information requests to efficiently manage, draft and respond to high volume and high profile information requests in the education workforce teams.

Key Priorities
- Establishes, improves and manages various processes and systems for managing information and workflow within the education workforce teams. Uses frameworks, methods and best practice for development of communications in an appropriate context.
- Allocates monitors and provides quality assurance over information requests coming into the teams and the responses.
- Gathers information and drafts responses that are written in a clear, logical and complete manner.
- Reports to management on the status of requests in play.
- Provides advice and guidance on communications and information management practices. Ensures these practices are aligned to Ministry wide standards, policies and processes for information management, Ministerial coordination and related practices.
- Identifies risks and opportunities regarding education workforce information requests.
- Use a range of strategies to plan, prepare appropriate documents and implement multiple tasks concurrently.
Key relationships
- Education workforce team members and managers.
- Other government agencies in the education sector; Education Council, New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), Tertiary Education Commission (TEC).
- Other teams in the Ministry – particularly the Communications, Records Management and Government, Executive and Ministerial Services teams.
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to organise work– identifying what matters, anticipating next steps, accurately delivering what was commissioned.
- Manage own workload of competing tasks and projects.
- Know when to involve others and seek advice at the right points.
- Knowledge of information management practices as well as key standards for managing information requests in government such as ministerials and official information requests.
- High level of writing ability – able to write with clarity using the active voice and sequence content so that it delivers messages effectively across the range of formats.
- Ability to work at pace to deliver quality work on time.
- Resilience to deal with pressure in a mature way.
- Use positive attitude to ensure work progresses appropriately with all involved.
