Information about college scholarships and financial aid opportunities that comes to the Hartsville High School Guidance Department is published in a Scholarship Newsletter each month. This information is delivered to all seniors during their advisory period each month. It is the responsibility of the student to share this information with parents and guardians.
America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders
Who: Seniors or full-time college students
Criteria: Minimum GPA of 2.5, pursue a degree related to agriculture, and major in one of the majors listed on the website. Eligible students must obtain three endorsements from eligible farmers.

SC Business Week
Who: High school students
What: An inside look at business in action, this program is designed to educate high school students on entrepreneurship and the American free enterprise system.
Where: Presbyterian College
When: July 24-29, 2016
Criteria: Be ranked in the top one-third of your class and possess demonstrated leadership skills through school and community activities.

SCEA-Retired Scholarship
Who: Seniors planning to pursue a career in education
Criteria: Must attend an accredited four-year college or university within SC as a full-time student, maintain a good high school academic record, demonstrate leadership abilities, and need financial assistance.
Amount: $1,000 a year for four years

Buick Achievers Scholarship
Who: Seniors
Criteria: Academic achievement and financial need, participation and leadership in community and school activities, work experience and interest in pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries. Please note, special consideration will be given to the following applicants: first-generation college attendees, females, minorities, military veterans and dependents of military personnel. The majority of the scholarships will be awarded to students majoring in STEM disciplines.
Amount: Up to $25,000 per year

Who: Seniors
What: Receive help filling out the FAFSA, get advice from financial aid experts, and receive scholarship information.
Where: Francis Marion University or Wilson High School
When: February 26, 2016 from 10:00 to 12:00 (FMU) or February 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 (Wilson)

SPC Credit Union Scholarship
Who: Seniors, current college students, or adults returning to school after 5 years or more who are active SPC members in good standing
Criteria: Application, letter of recommendation, senior resume, and transcript.
Amount: $1,000

Pee Dee Minority Teacher Loan
Who: Minority Seniors interested in a teaching career
Criteria: A committee of educators will screen the applications and select potential recipients. The committee will then interview these candidates and make final decisions on funding. Along with the application, reference forms, test scores, and the transcript must be included.
Amount: $1,000 per year for 4 years. If you complete a teacher education program and accept a teaching position in one of the member districts, your loan will be repaid by the district.
