Beware of the Greeks and the gifts they bring
You are playing in the Congress Final, and need a top. North passes, your partner opens 1 and South overcalls 1. You bid 2 your partner bids 2NT, you rebid your hearts and partner raises to game. North leads the Q which you win in dummy and play a diamond to your Ace, and a small heart towards dummy’s King. If .North wins the A and then leads a small club - what do you play from dummy?
You have to rise with the A, cash the K then the K & J (throwing two spades) and then play a small club back to your Q (hoping that the K is in the South hand). If South takes their K you have to ruff the spade return “high”, then draw the last trump and claim 11 tricks.
What you cannot afford to do is to run North’s club return to your queen, because South will win the K, and then cash the K and give North a spade ruff for 1 down!
