Job Title:Fundraising Volunteer Coordinator, based at Heald Green and Little Hulton
Job Summary:Torecruit, motivate and manage fundraising volunteers to assist in the delivery of the Fundraising Department’s income generation target. To work closely with the Community, Corporate and Event Fundraisers to monitor volunteer requirements and recruit volunteers as required. To supervise volunteers at external events and ensure they are fully briefed and have the necessary tools to complete their roles. To be the first point of contact for volunteers, and maintain regular communication through telephone, email and a volunteer newsletter. Together with Community Fundraisers to recruit volunteers to Volunteer Fundraising Groups and monitor and manage their activity. To coordinate the fundraising corporate volunteering scheme and ambassador programme as well as the fundraising volunteer induction and training programmes. To ensure all volunteers are correctly registered with the Hospice and adhere to the volunteer code of conduct. To maintain excellent up to date volunteer records on the fundraising RE database.

Principal Responsibilities
- To recruit, induct, motivate and manage volunteers to support all fundraising activities and assist in achieving the fundraising income target.
- To be the first point of contact for all fundraising volunteer enquiries.
- To communicate on a regular basis with all fundraising volunteers via face to face, telephone, email and volunteer newsletter.
- To write appropriate copy for the volunteer newsletter and ensure it is prepared on a timely basis in conjunction with the marketing department
- To update and maintain volunteer records on RE.
- To work closely with Community, Events & Corporate fundraisers to assess volunteer requirements and recruit accordingly.
- Working with the Fundraising Administrator to prepare and maintain a spreadsheet of events and activities at which volunteers will be required.
- To recruit, induct and manage fundraising Ambassadors and implement the Ambassador programme.
- To prepare and distribute role volunteer role descriptions.
- To ensure all fundraising volunteers are correctly registered with the hospice and adhere to the volunteer code of conduct.
- To work with the Hospice Volunteer Manager to ensure they are fully informed of the fundraising volunteer activities and to promote fundraising activities to all hospice volunteers, and identify suitable candidates.
- To maintain and promote externally an up to date record of fundraising volunteer opportunities
- To supervise fundraising volunteers at events, collections, bag packs where required.
- To work with other departments within the hospice to identify corporate volunteering opportunities.
- To provide administrative support for all volunteer activities.
- Together with Community Fundraisers to recruit and manage Volunteer Fundraising Groups (VFGs) where required.
- To be the point of contact for corporate volunteering teams
- To coordinate corporate volunteering teams and together with the Corporate Fundraisers to develop a list of corporate volunteering opportunities
- To deliver presentations to local schools, groups and organisations as part of the Ambassador programme.Also to recruit VFGs to deliver hospice fairs.
- To attend VFG meetings.
- To chair regular fundraising volunteer meetings.
- To regularly update fundraising volunteer opportunities on Charity Job, Gumtree etc.
- To build relationships with local CVS to maximise volunteer recruitment.
- To recruit and manage volunteers for collection box rotas in conjunction with the Fundraising Administrators and CFs.
- To ensure all volunteers are fully briefed and have the necessary tools to deliver their roles. E.g. t-shirts, collecting boxes, buckets, posters, event brief etc.
- This role will require some out of hours work at evenings and weekends.
General
- To be self-servicing of administrative functions.
- To be flexible with regard to working hours where requested,some evening andweekend work will be necessary.

St Ann’s Hospice is committed to the effective development and training of staff. Regular Individual Performance Reviews (IPR) take place informally every 6 months and a formal appraisal at 12 months – these meetings highlight areas where training and development are needed. Additional support meetings take place with line managers every month with every three months focusing on a SMART Objective review.

ESSENTIAL
/ DESIRABLEQUALIFICATIONS /
- Good general standard of education to GCSE Level or equivalent (including English and Maths grades A-C)
- Basic understanding of finance/numeracy
- Fundraising, marketing and/or business training / qualifications
EXPERIENCE /
- Experience of fundraising with an understanding of the nature and legalities around third party and volunteer fundraising.
- Experience of working with committees
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Experience of Microsoft packages
- Experience of working with and supporting diverse individuals across a range of fundraising activities
- Proven ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and those in positions of authority
- Use of databases
- Knowledge and experience of the principles and methods of fundraising and best practice
