Endowment Fund Grant Guidelines

The AQSG Endowment Fund was established in 2007. Each year the Board of Directors may determine an amount from the investment gains on all unrestricted endowment funds to be distributed through a competitive grant program using the guidelines below. The purpose of the grant program is to encourage and facilitate education and outreach in quilt related studies in keeping with the AQSG Mission Statement.

Application forms are available on the AQSG website at http://www.americanquiltstudygroup.org/grants.asp.

The timeline for grant applications is:

February 1 - Applications due at AQSG office

By April 15 - Grant awards announced

Following the announcement of the grant and receipt of the grant contract agreement, 80% of the grant amount will be sent to the grant recipient. Following the submission to AQSG of the final report, copies of receipts and accounting of the funds spent, the remaining 20% will be sent to the grant recipient.

Criteria: All projects must encourage and facilitate education and outreach in quilt related studies for the benefit of a public audience. Projects will be evaluated on the following:

·  Compatibility with AQSG Mission and current goals

·  Impact/Quality of the Project

·  Scope of work for the Project

·  Measurable outcome(s)

·  Timeliness of the Project

·  Ability of the applicant to complete the project in one year

·  Completeness of application.

Activities that are compatible with the AQSG Mission (see below), that have a lasting and tangible impact, will receive priority consideration. Grants will not be awarded for travel, salaries, or items that benefit an individual.

Grants may be applied for by AQSG members as well as non-members. Proposals may cover a portion of or entire project cost.

AQSG Mission Statement
