Rumi Called the FTC to order at 7 PM Central Time.

Tawney and Rumi brought up the Spaniel Water Test proposal, (i.e. Master Hunt Test Water would qualify for Field Champion Water Test) it has been reviewed by the ECSCA and the ASC but not as yet reviewed by the Springer parent club. Vicky Thomas has volunteered to take the proposal to the Springer parent club. The FTC approved and encouraged Vicky to resolve this With the Springer group.

It was requested the Tom Calabrese send out the latest Cocker Gunning Program to the FTC. Also, Rumi Schroeder and Buzz Benson requested copies of the Gun Captain Application form for their respective clubs to submit their Gun Captains for approval.

The Judge Committee doesn’t have anything new to report. A recommendation came in from Fred Bradley with concerns regarding ‘excessive restrictions’ that might evolve with the judge criteria, too much government would be a problem. Mike Gilpin requested that, after the working committee has formulated its recommendations, we circulate the proposed recommendations to solicit input from the cocker community. Such input would be taken into account when formulation the finalized recommendations. It was discussed that the Judges Committee would be looking at guidelines, as opposed to hard restrictions.

It was reported that the NCC 2008 is moving along on schedule, dates and grounds have been finalized.

The NCC 2009 planning is in the works, the CSFTA is preparing a proposal that will be submitted to the FTC at the next meeting. Mike Gilpin will present the proposal. A request for advance grounds fees will be included in the proposal and contained in the eventually budget. Rumi will approach Karen Spurlin, ECSCA Treasurer concerning the request for upfront NCC grounds fees.

Buzz reported that he has had contact with Nancy Murphy regarding the Hunt Test Committee. Final language regarding the ‘Working Dog Test’ is in the process. Buzz offered to lend a hand to the Hunt Test Committee.
