11. Summary of the new findings of thesis:

- Quantified soil organic carbon (SOC) storage in cropping systems at regional scale and calculate the soil organic carbon pool for each cropping system in the study area. The research is able to apply for cropping systems in other areas in Vietnam.

- Figuring out effects of cropping system change (agricultural land use change) on soil organic carbon pools at regional scale.

12. Practical applied capability, if any:

The results of thesis are important bases for managers and policymakers to make rational decisions which both be sure crop yields and enhance soil organic carbon content, soil production ability. This contributes to determine solutions of agricultural sector under climate change.

13. Further research directions, if any:

Integrate assessing effects of agricultural land use change on soil organic carbon into land use planning, especially agricultural land use planning.
