19TH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST. Tone 2
THE PROTECTION OF OUR MOST HOLY LADY THE
THEOTOKOS AND EVER-VIRGIN MARY.
Apostle ANANIAS of the Seventy (I cent.).
2 Cor. 11, 31 – 12, 9 Heb. 9, 1-7 Lk. 6, 31-36 Lk. 10, 38-42; 11,27-28
PROPERS:
Tropar of the Resurrection, Tone 2
When You descended to death, Life Immortal, You slew Hades with the splendour of Your Divinity. And when from the depths Your raised the dead, all the Powers of Heaven cried out: Giver of life, Christ our God, glory to You.
Tropar of the Feast, Tone 4
Today, Mother of God, we faithful people sheltered by your coming joyfully keep the feast and looking upon your most pure image we are moved to the depths of our hearts to say: “Protect us with your precious veil and deliver us from sickness beseeching Christ, your Son and our God, to save our souls”.
Tropar of the church, Tone 1
In giving birth, you preserved your virginity. In falling asleep you did not forsake the world, Birth-Giver of God. You were translated to life, Mother of Life, and through your prayers you deliver our souls from death.
Glory… Kondak of the Resurrection, Tone 2
Hades became fearful, Almighty Saviour, seeing the miracle of your resurrection from the tomb. The dead arose and all creation, with Adam, beheld this and rejoiced with You and the world, my Saviour, praises You forever.
Now and ever… Kondak of the Feast, Tone 3
The Virgin is present in the church today and with the communion of Saints prays to God on our behalf. The angels and high priests worship and the Apostles and Prophets rejoice. For the Birth-Giver of God prays to the Eternal God for us.
Prokimen, Tone 2
The Lord is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.
Verse: The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over to death.
Prokimen, Tone 3
My soul magnifies the Lord and my sprit rejoices in God my Saviour.
Alleluia Verses, Tone 2
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble. May the Name of the God of Jacob protect you.
Lord, save the king and hear us on the day we call out to You.
Alleluia Verses, Tone 8
Hear, daughter, see and incline your ear.
The rich of the people of the land shall supplicate her favour.
Communion Hymn
Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Alleluia (3X).
I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the Name of the Lord. Alleluia (3X).

Dear Parishioners,
This is a reminder that this year marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of our parish. We have a goal to raise funds for improvements to the church – painting has already been completed – plans are progressing to install a solea and replace the carpeting in the sanctuary with tile flooring. WE NEED YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT through financial donations by means of the envelopes which are available in the church vestibule and hall.
The estimated cost of the project is $50,000.00. We have achieved $20,000.00 in donations to date. Many thanks to everyone’s generous donations so far… please keep it up.
