Dear ,

Can you believe it has been fifty years? This April you will celebrate your 50th Class Reunion! Mark your calendars for Alumni Weekend 2009, April 17-19, and plan to return to the college to see familiar faces, catch up with classmates, and witness the latest developments on campus!

Your 50th reunion committee is working hard to ensure that this reunion will be worth your while to reorganize your schedules and relive your times at Roanoke College. I, along with your reunion committee, welcome any suggestions you may have as to how we can make the weekend most meaningful and fun for you. The committee also recognizes that while you were at RC, you were not in a “1959 class” bubble. Therefore the surrounding classes (1958 & 1960) will be invited to participate in the 50th reunion festivities with you.

Along with attending the reunion festivities in April, I encourage you to participate in the Reunion Class Gift Campaign. This year’s campaign is focused on raising support for the Roanoke Fund and increasing our alumni participation. Last year 27 members of the Class of 1959 supported the College raising over $6,000. To celebrate your Golden Reunion the below goals have been set.

·  To have 50 members of the Class of 1959 make a gift to the Roanoke Fund.

·  To raise $7,500 for the Roanoke Fund.

The Roanoke Fund is a means of bringing operational monies into the College on a yearly basis to pay for expenses not covered by tuition. I realize that times are tough right now and the requests for help, donations, and support seem to be never ending. Tight times affect us all, and Roanoke College is not immune to the economic influences. Your participation at any level of giving is greatly needed, encouraged and appreciated. Please remember your alma mater and make a gift today by completing the enclosed postage-paid envelope or going to our secure online site: www.roanoke.edu/givetoroanoke.

To see pictures from your times at RC or for more information concerning your 50th reunion, visit our webpage at: www.roanoke.edu/reunions.

I look forward to meeting you during Alumni Weekend 2009 at your 50th Reunion!

Sincerely,

Frazier Doran ’04
