2 PC Sports 3rd/4th Grade Fall Flag Football

Registration is May 5th - June 9th

The Recreation Program of Second Presbyterian Church is a church-supported nonprofit program designed for boys and girls ages 4-18. Second Presbyterian Church has provided this program for over 20 years teaching and coaching youth the many values athletics have to offer.

The mission of the Second Presbyterian Church Recreation Program is to glorify God and build His Church by using sports, fitness, and recreational activities to provide an environment for Christian fellowship, personal evangelism, and service to our city.

This year we will be registering online at www.2pcsports.org. Third and Fourth Grade football will be all boys on a team. Each team will have their own coach, and will be playing other churches as well as other Second Pres teams. The teams will have 8-10 boys and there will be 5 on the field at a time. With 5 players on the field it creates more opportunity for actual spatial awareness and allows the child to understand the positions better. We still want these kids to have fun, but the skill aspect is a little more emphasized since they are getting older. We also want to teach them about different life values that are talked about in the Bible. We want them to have fun, as well as learn about football.

Questions and Answer Form

How do we select teams?

Our goal in selecting teams is to make each team equal in athleticism, age, and grade so each child can receive the best opportunities to succeed. Our procedure is made up of 3 step processes: 1) To evaluate each child’s physical ability compared to their age. Former coaches and the staff at 2PC perform these evaluations. 2) To divide each team with an equal amount of age/grade athletes. 3) To accommodate at least 1 out of 3 friend request for each child.

How do we select coaches?

Our goal is to provide every child with a coach that knows the important skills of the game and who also knows the love of Christ. Each of our coaches have different ways they present their knowledge, but all understand the importance of producing well rounded men and women of moral character. Please let us know if you are interested.

Where does the registration money go?

We want to offer you and your child a program that is exceptional while at the same time financially affordable. Your money goes to leagues registration fees, equipment, uniforms, pictures, & trophies (all bold items are yours to keep). Our fees are consistent to other churches and athletic associations.

When are the teams ready?

We will have a coaches meeting TBA at which time the coach will be notified of their teams. All parents should be notified from their coach by Aug. 23rd.. If you are not contacted by that date please call the recreation desk for assistance 454-0034 (158).

This form is designed to help you the parent understand our policies and procedures. It’s is our goal to provide your child with the best opportunity to succeed emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually. We strategically organize our program to meet the demands and differences that our existence has to offer.
