RISK ASSESSMENT

Activity / Visit: Gymnastics Festival Date: 12th and 13th February 2014
Venue: The Louisa Centre
Educational Objectives:-
· To experience various gymnastic disciplines.

General movement around the centre:- / All participants / · Centre complies with Health and Safety regulations.
· Centre has Public Liability Insurance
· Communal areas looked after well by centre staff. / · All young people will be accompanied by Staff during movement around the centre. / · Constant monitoring and review during event.
Performing gymnastics / All participants / · Each station ran by a suitably qualified and experienced coach.
· Volunteers/assistants briefed by the coach prior to the event starting.
· SSP and centre staff have first aid qualifications. / · All equipment will be checked prior to use to ensure safety.
· All equipment will be stored safely.
· Children will not be allowed to use equipment unsupervised. / · Double check equipment at beginning of day.
· Constant monitoring of audience position.
Use of hired transport to transport pupils to and from activity. / All schools participating in the festival. / · All children and adults to wear seatbelt provided.
· Appropriate number of staff assisting group of children. / · Safe pick up points.
· Only school sites used for pick up and drop off from the festival.
· Parents consent gained prior to transportation. / · Safety checks on minibus
· Pre arranged transport schedule checked and reviewed.
· Communication with parents and school where necessary.
Welfare Facilities / Pupils going to the Toilets
