GETTING TO KNOW TOASTMASTERS

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. During the course of the meeting you will be a witness to our members taking on some leadership roles that include:

Sgt. at Arms calls the meeting to order, reads the Toastmasters Mission, makes a few short comments, and introduces the club's President.

The Toastmaster of the Evening (TMOE) is the emcee for the meeting. The Toastmaster begins by introducing guests, making a few short comments, then introduces and turns control to the General Evaluator.

The General Evaluator explains his or her duties and introduces the evaluation team: Timer, ‘Ah’ Counter, Grammarian, Ballot counter

The Table Topics Master helps increase extemporaneous speaking skills by asking members to speak for 1-2 minutes about a surprise topic.

Evaluators provide encouraging, positive, and constructive feedback

Club President asks for comments from the guests, reviews business, makes final comments, and adjourns

FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS OF OUR CLUB OFFICERS.

WE ARE HERE TO BE SUPPORTIVE.

Theme of the Day: My Public Speaking Path

My Public Speaking Path quote:“If you speak in public, you’re a public speaker. – Ryan Foland”One of his favorite questions to ask people aboutpublic speakingis if they consider themselves a public speaker. When 9 out of 10 answer no, he politely points out that their answer was technically them speaking in public. If you carry on any type of conversation during the day when you are in public, he’s going to argue that you’re a public speaker.Words are very powerful, and the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can improve yourpublic speaking skills.

Word of the Day: Stentorian
