Welcome to Business/CAOT 31- Business English. My name is Mrs. Jennings, and I will be your online instructor. I am happy you have chosen to enroll in this course, and I am looking forward to working with you this semester.

In this course we will examine the mechanics of business communications. We will study grammar fundamentals, sentence structure, punctuation, and document revision.

This coursewill be taught100 percent online. Lectures are given online, and all quizzes, tests, and assignments will be completed online. There are no required on-campus meetings. While you will enjoy greater flexibility in scheduling your study time, you will need to be self-motivated and disciplined in setting your study schedule and completing course requirements. All assignments, tests, and quizzes will be completed according to a specific timeline.

A WebTutor Blackboard Access key number will be included with your textbook when you purchase it from the bookstore. You cannot access the course assignments and tests without a Webtutor Advantage Blackboard access key number.

If you do not purchase the textbook/access key package from the bookstore, you can purchase a WebTutor Blackboard Access key number separately from the LAVC bookstore or Thomson Publishing Company. To purchase from Thomson, you will need to call Customer Service at (800) 842-3636. The ISBN number of the access key is 9780324543889.

The course website will be available beginning September 4th through the ETUDES-NG website. You must log on by September 7th to avoid being dropped from the course.
