Minutes of Meeting from February 1966
10 SHELL AWARD:
Miss. Irving spoke of the generous donation from the Shell Company of Australia and stated that there was also an award to be made available.
This will be awarded to any Associate Member of the Pony Club who has given outstanding practical assistance in his or her club. To be considered worthy of this award the Associate Member must have always been helpful and thoughtful for others and genuinely interested in seeing the aims of the Pony Club Movement are upheld in the Club of which he or she is a member. It will be left to the Local Committee of the Club to adjudicate as to whether an Associate Member is to be recommended to the Advisory Committee for the award. At least 2/3 of the Committee must be in favour of the recommendation of the candidate.
This is to be considered the highest honour for service and only outstanding Associate Members should he recommended.
The Association is beholden to the Shell Company of Australia for their generosity in sponsoring the award and also for the assistance towards the publication of the manual.

8. Shell Award
A letter was received from Mr. Richardson for the Shell Company of Australia Limited regarding the proposed Associates Award in the form of a Lapel Badge. The details for the Award, as stated in the Minutes of the Association Committee Meeting held on 15th February, 1966, were agreed upon.
Full discussion took place regarding the Award and it was decided that the Riding ability of the Associate will not be considered, as this is to be the highest award for service. The Associate must have been a member of a Pony Club for at least three years, and if a change is made to another club, a recommendation from the previous club could be considered.
